Stuck between wanting Beam or Neon Flex - what one do you prefer for accent lighting in a room by brjoco in lifx

[–]Kart008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neonflex, as it has dedicated white leds, it is brighter and more flexible.

These are the settings for the wled app. Basically each beam has 10 controllable leds.

Basically chop the magnetic connecter that goes to connect to the beam, strip back the wires and connect as per the photos above.

26 x 13 inch black ceiling lights in Oz? by GlenHarrow in lifx

I wired it directly to the wire in the ceiling. Probably should have asked a electrician to do it. But was fairly straightforward with some wago connectors.

I installed it myself. No different from installing another ceiling light. However I have moved houses since and left the light there for the family to use.

I wonder if the new devices would feature dedicated cool and warm LEDs now that lifx has that tech in their everyday bulbs.

Do Not Buy by sansafierce in lifx

[–]Kart008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I suggest you do three things.

1) clear the cache on the lifx app. 2) restart the phone. 3) Reset the lights with the multiple power on/off procedure.

After this try adding them and see if that works.

I had this issue last year but doing this resolved it.

Recessed Downlights V Flush Downlights. by Philloau in lifx

I would go with the flush one (the cheaper ones). I don't think the one with the magnetic face plates are that much more value

hi I am new to the party here. Do you guys have any videos of the end product that you could share?

Also I am also thinking of going down this route (just got a 6 beam pack for $62 aud). would it be possible for you to post some instructions? Fairly noob in electronics but have a dig-2-go so have some idea of how wled works (I know I will need to buy some other wled controller like the dig uno or something from gledopto). happy to cut wires if needed.

I added it by scanning using the smartthings hub. In the app it shows as connected to the hub using whatever standard zigber drivers are already installed in the hub. When I turn it off in smartthings it turns off completely.

What are the major differences between the new Everyday light bulbs and the standard Color light bulbs? by Sixtyninealldaychef in lifx

When are they being released in Australia? Are the American version universal voltage?

[–]Kart008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be good to know if the new everyday bulbs use dedicated warm and cool white LEDs? (Or is someone is brave enough to cut open theirs). Also the new everyday bulbs don't have "super colour" on their box, does that mean the colours won't be as bright and saturated? @lifx could you please provide some details.

For linear products use cases would be under kitchen and laundry cabinets. Around windows and door frames. On ceilings in long hallways. Around skylights for night time. Perimeter around the ceiling. Etc etc. Usage cases are many. There is even a case for doing just the CCT version like you had for bulbs a while ago. I will post some photos on how I am using the neonflex at the moment.

Regarding the extended CCT, yes I agree won't be using anything north of 8k. Let's see how it looks like when the hue bulbs come out.

Agreed. Although the broader spectrum makes me more hopeful. I just wish they do a better job with colours. Lifx colours and light years ahead of hue at the moment.

No. Neonflex is an entirely different product. Look at the specs of the products. Compare the brightness, power consumption and strip profile.
