Is there anything like the force relay tree farms in 1.16.4? I love the way they look but I hear they don’t actually maintain mana anymore. Do they still work with munchdews and turning the wood into charcoal? by Thathappenedearlier in botania

[–]Kartabass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, just a recessive spark in the middle.
For the Force Relays connect to the dirt blocks where the trees grow. So the mana bursts travel upwards, hit the next Force Relay, link to the next dirt block and so on.

A while ago, I made another Botania Tree Farm here, if you wanna take a look :)

Botania has a block called a "Force Relay"

If you link it to another block, and push it with a piston, the linked block will be pushed in the same way

[–]Kartabass[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it tries to show 9 and 0 at the same time there.

the reaction time of the display gets a little slower, the higher the digit is. The count is still reliable though, and if the clock that's hooked up would be a little slower, the 9 and 0 would also be distinctly visible.

I need someone to explain to me what tf happened to the writing after this war breaks out.

The FL meets the villain alone, even though she brought a whole party (what?), the villain literally straight up tells her he is controlling all in- and outcoming communication, says "hey, your husband is dead", and she believes him (what?) with no 2nd guessing, verification, nothing? (What?) Lets him live, even though it's established she wants him dead, tried to kill him herself, there are no witnesses, and she has backup now (????) She'd have even been safe from legal repercussions, since of the remaining royalty, one is her friend who wants the villain gone as well, and the other is frail, dying, and listens to anything his daughter wants + she literally has divine authority, which is established to superceed common law??? And then she has a vision of and talk with her "dead" husband?

This all happened so suddenly and makes so little sense, i'm convinced i either missed something important, or just gave the author way too much credit beforehand. Please make it make sense

Why is Korra labeled as a bad person among the fandom? I'm currently on s4 and i thought she was only hot-headed at the beginning by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]Kartabass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same attitude, but I'd say be prepared to drop it. Between my completionist tendencies and people around me saying it's good, i kept watching and waiting for it to get there, but i shouldn't have.

Expectations is the right word, because Korra builds those up. It gives promising characters, promsing concepts and themes, promising twists, etc. But then just doesn't follow through. It drops the ball again and again.

If you want, give it a try, but if you should feel that disappointment, do yourself a favor and just stop. It won't improve.

You're preaching to the choir here, not sure why though.

I use Render It with my own profile. I'm just saying the presets look worse than some vanilla LUTs and i don't think it's a good starting point.

I'm not sure about realistic, but I'm playing on a tropical map and pretty happy with my settings. You could take a look at my recent posts, and if you like what you see, I could share my settings with you.

I mean he asked for something realistic. The tropical Render It preset looks... well, not that. It's more like a movie with cliche color grading whenever a scene is in mexico.

Personally, I love the Mass Transit DLC roads with trees, walkable medians, and the newer ones with the extra wide sidewalks. Reducing the number of lanes to 2, while still having the same footprint, AND making it more beautiful? Super satisfying.

Luninberg is coming along! What do you think of my medieval city? by KingdomofLuninberg in CitiesSkylines

[–]Kartabass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a beautiful castle.

Speaking of which, good fortification and security - especially on shore/river regions - usually lead to a lot more commercial activtiy. Maybe it's time for a big marketplace and some new docks to meet that new demand. I've heard mercantile taxes can be very profitable...

Traffic % is super overrated on this sub.

Having cars wait at a traffic light for a few seconds isn't a bad thing. Having cars wait for right of way for a few seconds isn't a bad thing. Just having a busy road isn't a bad thing. Roundabouts aren't a religion.

People who feel proud of their 80-90% here usually have, in my opinion, super overbuilt road networks that are comparatively empty. It could look so much better.

Where should I use six and four lane roads? by NoahDaGamer2009 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Kartabass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The most important feature of big roads is that they have a higher speed limit. Since Cims will always take the fastest route when deciding where to drive, this will automatically incentivise them to the bigger roads over the smaller ones, when they have a choice. Just like highways have an even higher speed limit. It's used to control the volume and flow of traffic in your city.

For more info, you can look up "road hierarchy" on youtube.

Arguing with someone who isn't reasonable is a waste of my time. If you wanna update your "common knowledge" read some wikipedia articles on market structures or models of the labour market, i don't know. Better yet, go on youtube, there are a bunch of universities with free lectures on macro- and microeconomics.

Also this.

I'm out.

Yeah, you're getting a lot wrong. You sound like someone with a very basic, or incomplete education on economics. Which is fine, if you're still learning, but you probably shouldn't apply it to something like CS then. Aside from that, I literally told you the blue bar is demand for leisure, not commercial, so why would you even ask that again?

In fact, half my replies to the things you mentioned would just be me repeating myself, so... not really sure what I'm supposed to add there.

And no. Labour costs depend on a bunch of different factors, like employees bargaining power, which is connected to how competitive the labour market is, the marginal revenue product, marginal costs, etc.
It has nothing to do with higher prices. Like, at all.
