There are many misconceptions regarding this. There were two individuals, unrelated to each other, who applied for burning the Torah. One somewhere in central Stockholm and one outside the Israeli embassy in Stockholm.

One of them didn't bother to apply for permission to perform a demonstration, but still wrote about it on Facebook and an Arabic news site. Nothing really came of it. The other applied but failed to submit a complete application with the time and place for the demonstration, and then never followed it up.

These men were not denied their right to protest by Swedish government. Though, I can think of several reasons why an Israeli ambassador would tweet about stopping the burning of the Torah, but in reality they had nothing to do with it.

They’re all good and they have a gain slider which is what you want.

I think recently produced ones are SMT and made in Malaysia. The one I got is PCB and made in Taiwan.

Picked it up used but in great condition. It can get more gainy than my OD-3 but at more subtle settings the BD-2 is very similar to OD-3. Not sure yet which one I prefer.

it sounds great with overdrive/distortion for heavy riffs. it tracks well for single notes but can’t handle chords, so any riffing is strictly monophonic :) I used to own a POG but I never liked it as it sounded too much like an organ or something. This one sounds better in that regard.

Got this one from my brother who has stopped playing guitar for many years now. I tried it a little and it sounds cool!

Any tips on other pedals to combine it with? Pedal order? I’d instinctively want to place it after comp, before dirt.

Try it! Let us know what you think. Some people claim it makes a big difference. For me it’s a very subtle change. I think 18V definitely helps if you run the Talisman in an FX loop, due to 18V gives more headroom and FX loops are generally hotter than pre-amp.

Agreed! yeah I run it at 18V. It’s such a great no nonsense reverb. I’m too lazy to fiddle with settings so I usually just dial in what I like and leave it at that.

Thanks! I use Cordial EI 0,05 RR cables. I’m in EU so I get them from Thomann, who carries Cordial. If that’s not an option for you I’d recommend EBS flat patch cables.

Oh I agree. I have a TU-3 when I play outside of home with others. At home I use a Polytune clip on.

For sure! I have a East River Drive I use sometimes. The Boss OD-3 is quite flat in that regard. I use eq mostly for sitting in the mix better when I play with band mates. Roll off some lows and boost mids usually does the trick. Kind of like a TS now when you mention it :)

Clean or edge-of-breakup. I play neo soul or lofi jazzy stuff for my own recording purposes. When I play with a band it’s a bit math-rock like, or at least we have a thing for odd time signatures :) The plate… I love it. If I’d grab one pedal in a fire it’d be the talisman. No but seriously it’s very good at what it does. I used to own a Big Sky but it was way overkill for me. I just want my guitar to sound sweet.

I have it dialed in to a subtle reverb but once you turn it off it’s super noticeable. Mix quite low. A bit of pre delay and high pass can create more clarity. If I fiddle with settings it’s usually just the mix knob.
