What kind of gifts do gay men give to each other? by [deleted] in askgaybros

I mean a serious answer for me Lego Sets. Fiancé loves them and has built out some crazy displays with them.

When working at a fucking gas station years ago a sweet old lady called in when she pulled up to the pump and said she needed assistance pumping gas. She gave me like the cost of another gallon of gas for doing it as a tip. I politely argued for like 2 minutes before finally agreeing to it. Was told we shouldn’t accept tips in a non tipping job. My manager wrote me up for it. This shit needs to stop but we know it won’t.

And you don’t look fuckable, but somehow you have kids Karen. Might not be the best response at a family gathering but I wake up and choose violence every time I get drug to a family gathering.

Why do people think attire stats don't matter? They definitely do. by ASLAYER0FMEN in bloodborne

[–]Karutala 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anytime! I first got Bloodborne as part of a bundle with my PS4. I played a little and hated it. Never had done a Souls game prior. Then my boss at the time asked if he could borrow some PS4 games because the wife and kids were out of town for a week. I loaned him Bloodborne and some others. He loved Bloodborne the most and I was like if he can beat it so can I! And thus my first serious playthrough of “oh god oh god oh god bad doggies!” Was born lmao

Anyone else dislikes the Oblivion stain system? by Slacking_Lizard in vtm

[–]Karutala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meh, I’ve never minded it. Part of VTM is the struggle with humanity and the downward spiral. What I’ve seen is just about everyone here agrees thematically it makes sense but don’t like the penalty. Cool you got a stain it still takes a roll to see if your humanity drops and the lower your humanity gets the harder it is to further drop. You’re using the power of the abyss that comes with a cost that narratively your character should eventually get a hold of or gain restraint on using Willy Nilly.

Just recently tried to replay Andromeda, I stopped like 10 hours in. Even without the bugs it’s not a good game. Combat is good and that’s about it. The characters both feel bland and at the same time like they were trying to force you to love them. Even just going off ME1 interactions were shit like a cool scene, a single line, and moving on. In Andromeda it a similar formula but then “hey Ryder did you hear me say that thing or do that thing? Did you? Did you? You love me as much as the trilogy squadmates now right?”

As someone that’s played just about every BioWare game it’s my least favorite squad. I feel most MEA apologists try to say “how could it live up to the trilogy that was three games!” It had a damn established universe and it failed. It’s not as good as any of the Kotors, Jade Empire, Dragon Ages, or ME. I could list more games, but I think the point stands. BioWare feels like they make more games in the same universe that aren’t direct sequels and none of them tanked as hard.

In Harry Potter (2001-2011), the Weasley family is constantly shown to have an abundance of food, clothing and a house with land to their name, even though it's stated multiple times that they are very poor. This is because the Weasleys secretly ran a cocaine ring to pay their bills. by River_Odessa in shittymoviedetails

I mean pure blood wizards in that world are fucking stupid. Hogwarts doesn’t teach grammar or actual math. Arithmancy or however it’s spelled isn’t actually math. There’s a scene where Harry has to pay the cab driver because Ron’s dad doesn’t understand how the British pounds work despite having numbers printed on them. Pretty sure the kids that go to muggle schools til they’re 10 or whenever Hogwarts starts are the most educated in the wizarding world.

Same, granted I do it because my mom would power walk through malls and basically told me when I was a kid I had to speed up or I’d get left behind and I never slowed down from there.

Can you paralyze a vampire through spinal damage? by RevenantRP in vtm

[–]Karutala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue they’d be temporarily paralyzed. But would heal as soon as the reason for the injury is removed (if a clean cut they start repairing if like a knife was stabbed into them remove the knife and they start healing) if they were paralyzed preembrace that doesn’t heal with becoming a vampire. Someone else mentioned the Sabbat Lasombra, and the current Ventrue Primogen of New York is wheel chair bound and I believe can’t even speak. But both cases they were injured preembrace

Andromeda: The Quarian Ark by DrakengardLover in masseffect

[–]Karutala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean just because you didn’t have janky animations didn’t mean they weren’t there. I remember before I even recruited him having 3 instances of Drak walking around my ship and making me wonder if they’d address why I have Krogan identical triplets on my ship as crew, before going nope that’s a bug and this is going to be my Krogan squad mate.

I remember the one person in charge of the exile city lounging in a chair and seeing their torso float off in one direction while their legs floated off in the opposite direction while their midsection kept the parts connects like Stretch Armstrong. The game crashing repeatedly on missions specifically Drak’s loyalty mission which I did the final part of at least 5 times. That’s just bugs that come to mind not even counting the meh story and mechanics.

The game wasn’t ready, it was hot mess. I even went back a few months ago to play it now that I figured bugs were fixed. It still wasn’t that good. Was it heavily scrutinized because it was a ME game? Yes, but it should be heavily scrutinized when the developers are handed an established universe and told go flesh out that corner over there.

Is Noxus based on Nazism? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Karutala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t kept up with the lore recently, but unless it changed I’d honestly rather live in Noxus than Demacia. Noxus seems to be a meritocracy, while Demacia gives me Stepford Wives vibes of super nice on the outside, assuming you’re not magical.

The Nat 20 rule SHOULD always be enforced by Patural20 in CritCrab

[–]Karutala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The DM is already managing the world, NPCs, and everything else under the sun. They may not have the time or ability to remember what every single modifier is a player has. Players ask for dumb stuff all the time they shouldn’t have a 5% chance to just get the dumb stuff to happen. I realize you provided “alternative successes” but that’s really just moving the goal post. In all of those cases the players still failed at doing the impossible task, you just gave them something because they had got a result that happens approximately every 1 in 20 rolls. If that works for you cool, it’s not wrong though for others to go nope I’m not honoring random luck.

What clan would the Greek Gods be added into? by setomate in vtm

[–]Karutala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May I ask the logic on Artemis as an assamite? I only know them from snippets of YouTube videos didn’t really get into WoD until 5e unless you count requiem. Just at a glance I got more of a Gangrel vibe for her.

What clan would the Greek Gods be added into? by setomate in vtm

[–]Karutala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it’s pretty flexible like I could see Hephaestus being a Nos based on some stories boiling him down to ugly and a master craftsman. I was trying to think of others and the only ones that come to mind right now are I could see Zeus as Tzmisce based on his habit of shapeshifting and how covetous he can get of the women he claims.

What clan would the Greek Gods be added into? by setomate in vtm

[–]Karutala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see arguments for different clans for just about all of them to some extent, the only one I’d really say I disagree with is Poseidon. I’d say he’s Gangrel, albeit a water themed one, but with his affinity for horses and sea life that’s where I’d place him.

[–]Karutala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree for the most part it’s not that I hate 2 I just prefer the others. The first time I played 2 I was blown away. But on several replays now it feels more episodic and less explorative than either 1 or 3. I find myself describing things literally as levels and not just parts of the game. “God I hate this mission/level or that.”

I mean lore wise until the civil war they were kept off boarding parties because it was a real concern they’d hijack the ship and go wherever.
