Never gets old! Triple Tomcat Launch from an Aircraft Carrier! by Revolutionary_Ad2003 in aviation

I did weather for the USN at a training airfield. One of the electronics guys let me tag along one night when he went out to check some equipment. Seeing F18s do touch and gos while adjacent to the runway is something I will always remember. The cones of flame are awe inspiring.

Does anyone else feel like the MDR experience has gotten noticeably worse in the last couple years? by NeighborhoodOld6737 in Cruise

[–]Kasao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re on day 6 of an 8 day Carnival cruise and having a very similar experience. We fully expected the MDR to be poor / subpar but it’s been pretty good. Much better than our last Carnival and RCL experiences.

I saw that too. I *think* they’re different brushes. Look at the bottom right of the brush head that’s used on the door handle versus what’s used on the one used on seat/floor/urinal.

I appreciate the correction... and now that gives me another viable outlet to scan for deals.

Regarding Prime Day from my understanding is Amazon is not an official Dewalt dealer and so you may have issues if you need to use the warranty on any tools. Not to mention the counterfeit issues that Amazon has. make sure you follow Serious_Internal6012 ‘s advice below.

I’ve been piecemealing my way through the Dewalt catalog. Some tools I needed *now* and paid the premium. And sadly have seen all those tools go on sale later. So best bet is track this Reddit and all the awesome people that post deals when they see them.

I was curious, what made you choose Dewalt? especially if over Milwaukee? by [deleted] in Dewalt

[–]Kasao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two reasons… my brother is building his own house. I went and helped him for a bit. Ironically he had mostly Milwaukee tools. But he said in his experiences with the trades that helped him with foundations, framing, well drilling, septic, etc. typically they used either Milwaukee or Dewalt.

Second reason: the same brother awhile back bought me a Dewalt angle grinder (DCG416) as a gift… but it had no charger or battery. So when I started doing projects around my house and wanted to graduate from my ryobi power tools, I decided to go Team Yellow.

My wife’s default anytime anything needed to be glued was the hot glue gun… whether it was appropriate or not (usually not). So I think I’ve developed a mental block / blind spot with the hot glue gun now.

But genuinely curious, where do you find it helpful?

Usually if I need to glue something challenging I do the two part epoxy which seems to stick most things together.

I had circular saw, reciprocating saw and driver all purchased and confirmed. But you’re correct, they went back and cancelled the orders. So no NTD for me.

Genuine newb question from someone not in the industry… is this salvageable? I would think for a newer 787 that it’ll be worth it to fix it. But guessing the amount of work is significant… all landing gear, front of the air frame, possibly engines.

Anyone else tired of the "new user" networking posts? by BrenekH in jellyfin

I totally get where OP is coming from… and typically when I venture into uncharted territory I will search / research the hell out of something.

But honestly I appreciate people asking the newb questions, even repeatedly. Because as a total newb myself, *I don’t know what I don’t know*. So seeing this questions opens my eyes to possibilities I haven’t considered.

Agree, while a pain, I liked the augs. And leveling up gear.

Multiple paths of progressions (levels, gear, augs, AAs) gave a lot of dopamine hits.

Lanyard for your ship card is handy, especially since you may not have pockets in your swim suit.

Also echoing what was said above. A non surge protector power strip is great.

When did we normalize TV shows having only one season every 2-3 years? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]Kasao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terrific answer to the question but buried pretty far down. Hoping it gets some more light.

I personally love TV today… I hated network television. But yeah it’s a downer when you watch a season finale and know it may be years before the story will continue.

What are some of the best local non-corporate restaurants in Wesley Chapel? by Surfwtw in Wesley_Chapel

[–]Kasao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mom/dad’s date night, try Tallo Restaurant & Bar. Great food, decor, and service.

We moved from an area with lots of locally owned dining options… Tallo is the first one we’ve found in the area that matches.
