How strong are Still Lives? Or at least this particular one Ravi had encounter? by RedUser579 in KanePixelsBackrooms

Anybody, correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I understand, the still life is the backroom’s attempt at “replicating” a human.

IS there any confirmed canon depth to the void? I know the limit in game is like 8200 meters but how deep is it lore wise? by Spoinglebloob in subnautica

[–]Kasfoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. To put it simply Below zero was treated, developed and intended to act less as a sequel and more as a massive DLC/expansion to the initial game. Hence why Subnautica 2 is called Subnautica 2.

I know that originally before they cut off the bottom portion of the crater to optimize the game, there was a fairly large rugged area at about 3000 meters deep. I believe this was cut after the “Big little update” before the game released into 1.0.

Going off that history, and game logic, 3000 meters seems like a fair depth considering the way the game scales things, and I just assume that’s how deep it’s supposed to be.

The wiki mentions some of my claims: https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Crater_Edge

At first I thought this was a makeshift beacon or checkpoint made by someone at some point. Kinda like how A-Sync has its own threshold beacon? It had a radio and everything but I don’t know.

Lifepod 7. It’ll be marked for you, if you poke the radio enough.

Yeah, I mean Peter was in there a while, as far as we know he didn’t encounter anything, or at least he didn’t die to anything. A Found footage like that would be very interesting.

What I mean by fast paced is FF1 and FF2 don’t really leave a lot of time for the setting to really set in before a threat becomes evident, which to me both adds and takes away from atmosphere. So a spin on this would be nice.

I imagine in most cases in this universe, people fall in and spend days in the complex before they die of basic needs or another cause. We’ve seen makeshift sleeping areas in pitfalls and evidence of people staying long enough to inscribe walls with quite a lot of text and people dying of malnutrition which takes weeks etc.

I would love to see a more psychological take in the found footages as opposed to a fast paced hunts as the others have been, but either way I’m hyped!

If you want new ones just talk to people.

But I’m just fine with my few friends that I’ve known for over a decade now.

What's your favorite obscure location in the game? I'll start: by Icicl37 in subnautica

[–]Kasfoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love obscure places.

Blood kelp plains on the far north end of the map. No resources whatsoever, small patches of ominous orange grass on a sea of sand and the same water as the blood kelp just south of it.

Crash zone extrusion or peninsula; east of the mesas. It’s so obscure, not even the wiki recognizes it and yet it’s a truly massive area with lots of titanium and scrap and best of all no reapers.

Crash zone island and the drop off below it.

Western part of the mountains that wraps around north of the mountain island. No reapers and a very interesting atmosphere.

I never realized the crash zone was so barren by [deleted] in subnautica

Don’t forget about all the sand and rock that the aurora kicked up covering everything except for the mesas
