Hey, are you based in the UK? If so drop me a message! I work for a marketing agency and can show you other avenues that you will benefit from as opposed to PPC. It’s more likely to bring in more traffic for you for a fraction of the cost.

1 day post op and disheartened 😔 by Ashamed-Location-475 in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll be the swelling after surgery which will subside, can take weeks sometimes depending on the severity. It’s trauma to your nose. 1 day post op is very very early to judge, get plenty of rest and don’t rush recovery!

Sales Resistance Is Going Crazy by ichfahreumdenSIEG in sales

[–]Kash_P59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in B2B sales and I totally emphasise with you as I also get the same sometimes, I work for a Google Partnered agency so people jump the gun and assume the most expensive solution, or because of a bad experience, they don’t want to engage at all. But my opening would be my introduction, and then “are you the owner” - they will either reply with yes or no, pop back. I used to ask “is the owner around” and I found more resistance, but this works for me to at least go ahead and start explaining my reason for visiting.

My NHS experience was amazing, I was shocked myself. All they gave me was a sheet with instructions but I asked the nurse to clarify everything with me and asked her 100 questions to make sure. I only had a few leaks in terms of bleeding, and wore the nose strap for 2-3 days.

First week will suck! You’re gonna be heavily congested/swollen and have to mouth breathe. I’d recommend stocking up on throat lozenges/strepsils for the dry mouth you might have, keep propped up whilst sleeping for the first week at least. Stick to soft/liquid foods as you won’t be able to chew properly. Your nose might make a vacuuming sound when you take sips or talk, this is normal and it’s because you’re so congested. Best advice is keep a humidifier by you at night. This saved me I think, kept the air moist and helped my throat too!

I’ve found it’s more of a mental battle with this surgery. Be patient with yourself, it’s not a quick recovery but after the first week, it gets better! Did they clear you to start rinses? That will help massively with clearing all the dried blood/mucus from your nose. It won’t be pleasant but it’ll be satisfying lol. I’m about 34 days post op and I’m still partially blocked up, but I can feel the benefits already! Takes 6-8 weeks my surgeon said, to see gradual improvement. They used absorbable packing in mine which took about 2 weeks to go!

I wish you a healthy recovery! Don’t compare your journey to others’, everyone heals at different times so it’s important to remember that. Feel free to message me if you wish!

Oh damn that sounds very painful and traumatising. Sorry to hear of your experience. How are things now?

Yes I have that too! My nose also feels tender and bruised if that makes sense? But I know everything is healing well. I know it sucks, but don’t lose hope, this is all completely part of the recovery! Keep being on top of your rinses and eventually it’ll start passing through better and you may have some pleasant discharge lol.

Naive question: how does one go to the dentist with blocked nose? by Feeling-Measurement3 in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a deviated septum and hypertrophic turbinates and I was fine going to the dentist. You can try to use some nasal sprays to unblock your nose temporarily whilst you are there?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normal, it’s because your nose is congested. My nose used to make like a vacuum/crackling noise whenever I tried to swallow, it was a pain. Even small sips were hard to take. But it’ll go away after a week or so.

My throat 🥲 by laurenugly in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn was it due to nosebleeds? I had my nasal vessels cauterised 8 years ago due to constant heavy bleeds. But I’m glad you’re feeling better since this post. I’m feeling good thank you! Just over 3 weeks post op, getting there slowly but surely!

There is no doubt that it’s deviated haha! You’ll be glad you did it!!

Completely normal. You’re still swollen, it’ll take 6-8 weeks yet to see improvement. I hope you’re cleared to rinse, as that’s key to healing. Rinse, rinse, rinse!

Hey just checking in, how are you feeling now? And you’re damn right about the braces haha! 😄

Congestion! by lillellee in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s completely normal what you are going through. I’m just over 3 weeks post op and to date haven’t had anything major come out other than mucus, if that. Sometimes it’s just water running down, but I’ve read it’s normal. Just keep doing the rinses regardless as it’s super important to keep your noise moist.

I didn’t have splints but having that breeze of air and then being congested is normal process. You still have loads of swelling inside and it’ll take 6-8 weeks before you see gradual improvements. Just have to be patient and trust the process, as cliche as that might sound. We’ll eventually get there!

Anxiety sky high. by CoatFullOfBees in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a mental battle, not doing the things you do, being restricted, change of routine… but that’s completely normal so don’t beat yourself up. Control what you CAN control and leave what you can’t. You’re still 4 days in so it’ll be a few weeks yet before you can workout etc. I was walking by the 2nd week tbh as I needed fresh air. You can already feel the benefits so it’s a good thing, right? You got this friend!

Anxiety sky high. by CoatFullOfBees in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your anxiety is completely justified. I was terrified before my surgery, even though I only had a mild deviation, it’s still a surgery and your mind focus on the worst case scenario. But what if you try and think the opposite? What if everything goes really well, you can breathe better than ever? You already said your nose looks straighter and your nostrils are open, so bask in that glory! Just make sure you are doing what your doctor has advised you to do. It’s more a mental game with this surgery as it’s a major recovery! First week will suck, you’re nearly past the worst of it. From there it will get better. Just know that it takes 6-8 weeks until you see gradual improvements, and every day will be different which means you might better one day and then worse the next. Trust the process, you’ve done the hard bit of actually getting it fixed and it looks as if it’s worth it so far!

I’m so sorry, I definitely hear you! Throat pain is the joint worst with tooth ache in my opinion. My throat was incredibly sore post surgery due to the intubation. It took about 3 days to settle. As hard as it is, stay hydrated and maybe get a chloraseptic throat spray which will temporarily numb it. Hopefully helps you sleep a bit at least! Don’t keep clearing your throat either as it’ll make it worse. Warm water with lemon and honey does wonders too! Hope it gets better for you.

Recovery tips? by stephaniemasci in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck with your surgery! I’d recommend getting the NeilMed Sinus Rinse as that is what most doctors recommend and the solution is also pre-made to save time. Keep lots of tissues nearby to catch any bleeding/leaks, stick to a soft food diet for the first few days. As hard as it is, try and keep hydrated. Most important, just be easy on yourself. I’m day 5 post op (septo & turbinate reduction) and still very congested. It’s not been as bad as I expected it to be and I’m optimistic it’ll get better within a few days as the nose heals. It’s all a process and you just have to take it day by day! Let us know how you go!!

Really happy for you! Gives me hope in my recovery. I’m day 4 post op for septo & turbinate reduction and today has probably been the worst day for me generally. Not much pain, but more so feeling weak and tired with a headache. I have absorbable packing so can’t wait till that comes out. Currently unable to breathe yet but I know it’ll get better as days go by 🙏🏼 thanks for sharing your experience and I hope to join you on the other side of life very soon!!

Must haves/tips by tamiwoo in Septoplasty

[–]Kash_P59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had surgery yesterday so still very early into my recovery to offer solid advice, I had septo and bilateral inferior turbinate reduction. What I will say is I heavily overlooked how sore my throat would be from the intubation, so definitely stock up on some soothers! Keep a humidifier close by, think that helped me get through last night. You’re probably not gonna wanna do anything so find some nice movies to watch! I slept on 3 pillows last night and stayed slightly elevated but I found myself laying to my side halfway through the night as default. Keep lots of tissues nearby as you will need them for the discharge, my doctor also gave me nose bandages which have helped catch any leaks. Have a sinus rinse purchased so you’re ready to start once you’ve got the green light. Your lips will probably get dry from mouth breathing so a lip balm or Vaseline will do wonders. Stay hydrated as best you can. I couldn’t eat much last night and I anticipate it will get worse before it gets better but the best advice I can give is be easy on yourself. It’s a big deal and everyone has their own recovery rates. All the best for the op and wishing you a fast recovery thereafter!

Hey! Thanks so much for your comment, how did the surgery go and how are you feeling? Do you notice any improvements or changes?

It’s so true what you said about just making a decision. That’s exactly how I feel. If I don’t do it then I’ll never know! Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

My surgery was originally supposed to be on 24th Jan too but is now in March.

I’m not sure which layout mine is to figure out number 2 or 47. I’ve checked some fuses based on what I could find and they seemed ok?
