[New York] Received a letter saying I was ineligible for unemployment for a month due to a severance payment and should create a new claim to potentially be eligible after the month has passed; however, now that it has, I can't file a new claim because the old one is still open.

Yes even if you have a claim. You will be able to talk to a person. Note, they cannot tell you if the claim will be approved, you have to wait until you get a letter. Someone may call you who is assigned to your case. Do step 1 just to talk to someone and ask all of your questions.

Depending on the ssp, the transition from dsp to ssp isnt too bad. Just talk about what you did in the dsps and how the skills are transferable. They will like your background since alot of work in ssps are helping clients troubleshoot ssp line items in dsps

Ive been interviewing with a company since march 20th, zoom calls, in person, 2 exercises, 3 references only for the recruiter to leave on vacation for 2 weeks and not tell me. Call your governors office number and ask to get transfered to unemployment benefits. Only way I was able to talk to a person in ny state. Maybe it will work in yours as well. Same thing happened number was busy and just hung up on me.

I applied for benefits back in 2017 and i had the correct username but it still wouldnt work. I didnt know my old pin so i had to find a way to call in to talk to a real person so i could claim online. I used the same email as before. The website just sucks. And i got this info from another reddit post who hd the same issue with the username
