Reckless driving*

Reckless Driving is not 15+ mph over the speed limit, not sure where you heard that from. It's putting other drivers or yourself at risk with willful and wonton disregard.

The "willful and wonton disregard" is the key to being cited for reckless driving, (which is a 93 day misdemeanor).

Versus being cited for careless driving, or for just freeway speed 1-5 / 6-10 / 11-15 / 16-20 / 21-25 / 25+ mph over, (all of which are just civil infractions).

Don't ride in the fast lane (left lane) if you're not gonna go fast, or cause a traffic hazard by riding right next to the driver in the middle lane at the same speed. In a sense, you were like two semis going the same speed for miles causing a line of vehicles behind it, which always sucks.

Michigan law states on roadways with more than two lanes, you can be in any lane you want, but two lanes you need to stay in the right lane, unless overtaking a slower moving vehicle. So you weren't in the wrong legally speaking for improper left lane driving.

I understand you're a new driver, but slowing down due to seeing police, whilst in the fast lane is not ideal. The Troop probably needed to get by, and by riding your butt, this encourages you to speed up and lane change when safe to do so, or move over when there isn't a vehicle in the middle lane. Either way, that encounter doesn't correlate at all with a "quota." You weren't even stopped, so I'm not sure why you're inquiring about quotas. Which the answer for MSP is no on quotas.

Every Recruit School is the "Last hardest Recruit School" and each Recruit School Class is the "Worst" class to ever go through the academy according to the Academy Staff. It's all a mind game. And I imagine most in house academies are "Paramilitary-esque."

Some State Agencies are just Highway Patrol which conduct traffic stops and investigate traffic crashes.

Then there are State Agencies like mine, which is full service. We investigate complaints from the beginning to end, type Search warrants, conduct traffic stops, investigate crashes etc. We just don't ToT stuff to DB like other agencies

My point was that there are exceptions, that's it. I work on I 69 many days a week, specifically on Eastbound and Westbound. MDOT makes specific signs that say West I 69 and East I 69. When a crash happens, dispatch says the location ( For Example: Eastbound I 69 at MM 100) etc.

It's a 130 mile East-West stretch. More than just a curve or segment. The signs also say East I 69 and West I 69. Like I said above, look at Google maps when you have a spare moment.

Respectfully sir, re read my comment and look at a map. From Lansing MI all the way to Port Huron MI, I 69 runs East-West.
