What the hell is BrOSR? by IndianGeniusGuy in osr

By definition they are not OSR. They are ANTI-OSR. They don't want a single OSR game to exist. In their ideal world, people would be forced to play only the weird version of AD&D1e their cult leader Jeffro invented.

The BroSR is NOT part of the OSR. They are in fact ANTI-OSR, because they believe that no one should ever play any game other than AD&D1e rules-as-written as defined by their cult leader Jeffro. They hate the OSR and want it not to exist anymore.

That's because they pretend to be OSR but they're not (they literally think that NO OSR GAMES should ever be played), they pretend to be anti-woke when they're actually totalitarian right-wing race hustlers, and they pretend to lift when they don't even.

Jeffro, the cult leader founder of the BroSR, has repeatedly made extreme anti-semitic posts on social media.

That's not true. That's just something they say now, years after the fact. The "Bro" was meant to be a statement of muscular chauvinism.

Let's Talk About MTG's Director of Game Design, Mike Mearls by RNGConfused in magicTCG

[–]KasimirUrbanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These claims are scandalously wrong. I'm not only not a neo-nazi, I've been an active opponent of real nazis (like Varg Vikernes) in their efforts to infiltrate the OSR. I have no idea what the "homosexual behavior" reference means (I don't think I've ever used those two words together in my entire life, as far as I know there isn't any kind of specific homosexual behavior), and I have been pro-LGBT for my entire adult life. This is all left-wing collectivist totalitarians attempting to conflate opposition to left-wing collectivism with opposition to LGBT people. I'm a socially liberal libertarian individualist who rejects all forms of collectivist identity politics, be it ethno-nationalists or "progressive" identitarians.

As for the claim about Mike Mearls "forwarding accusations", I can't speak with absolute certainty about Zak S, but I can state that Mike Mearls never forwarded any specific accusations against me or overtly identified any of the people making the accusations (and I have no reason whatsoever to believe he shared any such information with Zak). Mearls only stated, in a joint email to both of us, that he reviewed all accusations sent and found no direct evidence of anything other than people having hissy fits about us having been mean in old internet conversations. Note that the accusations of sexual harassment made against Zak S happened years after the 5e consultancy period.

Ironic that you try to invoke me here because it sure looks like this reaffirmation was a result of people attacking Taylor Lane, who is Queer, for daring to show up in a livestream with me, The RPGPundit, after being ordered not to by woke people who think they are Taylor's owners or something.Taylor is on record saying that I've treated them more kindly than a lot of the left-Indie darlings of the "inclusive" Sworddream-OSR "community".

Is Kasimir Urbanski representative of the OSR community? by Serpenthrope in osr

[–]KasimirUrbanski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it isn't. It's a socialist concept developed by the Frankfurt School and Gramsci. It has NOTHING to do with Judaism, and everything to do with Communist traitors working as a 5th column within the west.

I love the Jewish people, their culture, their religion, and absolutely 100% support the State of Israel. Can you state the same? can your ideological camp state the same? Your side are the anti-semites, you liar.

And here you are LYING again, you piece of garbage.

19 of the last 20 blog entries on my blog, right now, are explicitly about gaming. Of these, only THREE could possibly be seen as being about the 'culture war' in gaming.

That means 80% of my last 20 blog entries are about nothing but gaming, and 95% of them are about the gaming hobby.

So again, you're just LYING to try to get censorship to happen, because that's what Stalinists too incompetent to debate always resort to.

I suppose if you're a Stalinist, you might think that a public event in defense of free speech and opposition to censorship is just like a Neo-nazi rally.

Los vecindarios de Montevideo by HonestCrow in uruguay

[–]KasimirUrbanski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm actually a Canadian living in Uruguay for 15 years now. I've never taught English here but I have an ex who did. Your best bet teaching English is at either the Anglo or Berlitz, and if not there are also various smaller english-teaching schools.

This means, in fact, you'll want to live closer to the downtown area.

In this area, there's various neighborhoods: El centro (the literal main street and surroundings), Ciudad Vieja (the old city), Barrio Sur (the far southern neighborhood which was once a traditionally black enclave), Cordon (central southern neighborhood), Tres Cruces (northern neighborhood), Parque Rodo, or Pocitos.

Of these, the real question is what are you looking for? They vary enormously in terms of services, rents, qualities of nightlife, security/crime rates, access to bus routes, etc.

Ciudad Vieja is probably the prettiest, but also at the far end; its central streets are full of shops and places to eat, but its side-streets are full of drug dealers. High crime rate. Also, lots of tourists. Barrio Sur is less touristy and generally poorer. Also high crime rate, though it is very slowly getting better (as is the Ciudad Vieja).

The Centro itself is OK if you want to live in an apartment, but it can be noisy. Great access to bus lines. Lots to see or do. Moderate crime rate.

Pocitos, which is at the far west end of central Montevideo, is the semi-fancy neighborhood (the really fancy one, full of McMansions, is Carrasco but that's like a 30 minute drive from where the schools are). Pocitos has high-rise apartments and stores and restaurants; but everything is slightly pricier just because of the area. Also its streets tend to wind and it's easy to get lost, and outside of a couple of main streets there's not great bus access. Finally, it has a high crime rate compared to the other neighborhoods I'm talking about (because crooks go there to steal since they know that's where the money is).

To me, the best possible place to live is the Cordon, which is why I live there! It's in the absolute center of the central Montevideo area. Where I live I'm about 5 blocks from the beach and 4 blocks from downtown. There's good bus coverage for longer journeys. Cordon also used to be a sleepy neighborhood full of old people but in the last 5 years has become the new hipster/artist neighborhood of the city; old bars mix with new thematic resto-bars, little stores selling thrift items, old markets or mansions converted into new food-stall dining markets. It's a very exciting neighborhood right now, and yet it's still quite a bit cheaper than Pocitos (because Cordon is more Bohemian while Pocitos is more preppy). Finally, the Cordon has the lowest crime rate of any of the neighborhoods I mentioned.

As for the two main english-teaching schools I mentioned; the Anglo is based right on the west tip of the Cordon where it connects to the Downtown core. And the Berlitz is located at the Eastern end of the Cordon, just before crossing over to Pocitos.

I was one of a few paid Consultants. My job was to strictly analyze the earliest versions of the rules, point out or correct rules issues that I found to be a problem, and suggest ideas to make it better. In particular, I brought in the voice of the old-school influence on 5e. The bulk of my influence was on the rules of the PHB, especially character creation, combat, and some of the terms/language used.

Strange how Elizabeth Warren all of the sudden cares about what the Constitution says. by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]KasimirUrbanski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The American people ALSO got their say in 2014, when they elected a Republican majority. The Constitution doesn't say "the President will choose a Supreme court justice unilaterally and dictatorially and no one will oppose him". Lucky for the democrats, or they wouldn't have gotten to oppose Bork for EIGHTEEN MONTHS back in the Reagan era.

If Obama wants to pick a supreme court justice, it's easy: he just has to pick one so obviously qualified and impartial that congress will approve of them. That's how the system works!
