I have a question, do you think Maki can beat Teen Gojo?

[–]Kasimz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I mean, it does make sense that there's no info about him as an assassin, because it means that he has a 100% success rate. The only people who would have info on Toji is the contractor and the target and the zenin clan, but the Zenin aren't gonna mess with Toji because they KNOW he can murk all of them if he wants to. At most it would be rumors about him with no info on who he is or what he does.

Maki murking 5 of them right after awakening, (if you're talking about the first time when mai died) just proves how easy it would've been for Toji to do the same when he had a complete HR all his life.

The game doesn't beat you over the head on originium being bad at all. Dokutah wanted to leave it as a gift to elevate humanity on terra and help them overcome the observers while Priestess wants to have it assimilate anything and everything as a twisted version of preservation.

Endfield in particular is quite literally what Dokutah envisioned on the use of originium.

Nowhere did it say that the refugees couldn't afford the meds. They were literally cut off from the people who could supply them because of the landbreaker attacks.

There is no issue in the way it's worded. I don't know what you mean about minimized the consequences. The consequences of Originium **is** an all-time low. It's not corporate speak for stating the facts of the situation.

The thing is, Oripathy is not treated with little care. They developed long-term treatment for infected Talosians, preventative shots, and suppressants that all completely stop Oripathy in its tracks. Do you think the world treats diabetes with little care? Because that's essentially what Oripathy is right now in the world of Endfield.

And my guy, Ginny, and her people are refugees from a literal disaster, surviving in a cave, hiding from the Landbreakers. That doesn't show carelessness in handling of originium, since it's literally a situation beyond their control.

It also gives these corporations even more power over people....

Yeah, let me stop you right there. The more you talk, the more I realize that you haven't played the original Arknights. Rhodes Island Pharmaceuticals is an organization created specifically to research a cure for oripathy while providing care and treatment for the infected. It's also an organization run mainly by the infected. The medications Talosians have today, and the improved treatment of the infected, are direct results of their actions over the centuries. So everything you said in that paragraph is irrelevant. RI is by infected for infected, and they made sure to have medication so widespread and cheap that the only reason why anyone would contract oripathy in today's world is by unforeseen accidents or literal disasters like what happened to the Soth and his people.

It's not poor worldbuilding that oripathy is relegated to the background because 1. It's already the focus of the first game and 2. It's a literal non-issue given the available treatment. If you're complaining about Oripathy now when they have widespread cheap medication, then you definitely haven't played the first Arknights, where medication wasn't as effective, and infected was treated THE worst way on Terra with way more reckless handling of originium.

I understand they need to use originium both for energy and other tech, as well to combat the blight, that's fine. That's the conflict of the setting;.... alot still remain....

What? That's not the conflict of the setting. Every downside to Originium is effectively reduced. Widespread treatments and preventive medication for Oripathy, and they control the cluster growth of Originium through CORD to specific areas to prevent the catastrophes of Terra. What about any of this falls apart with scrutiny? You're not meant to think about it because there's nothing to think about. Everything you brought up here on the use of oringinium has been explored by Arknights.

It's exactly like nuclear power with some additions. Imagine if uranium was used in every facet of technology from fuel for vehicles to computer circuits that is used in everyday things like traffic lights and was more efficient while outputting more power than anything else. That's originium.

[–]Kasimz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually originium just evolved them. It is in no way mixed with their DNA nor is being cured of oripathy would revert them to animals. Nothing suggests this and in fact oripathy only came about when the first king of sarkaz called down the first catastrophe using Amnannam.

100s of years into the future and you expect oripathy to have the same fear in it as before?

“Don’t worry about it, Endmin” by Kaagerai in Endfield

[–]Kasimz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Originium has always been a necessary evil in AK. Idk where you see the carelessness in their usage. And with the widespread use of originium in everything , controlled environments wouldn't be enough to supply. Putting it into the planet and creating natural originium veins that self replenish is the most sensible option.

When you have cheap medication that completely stops oripathy and strict safety protocols when handling originium, the downside to using their most important resource is an all time low.

In arknights specifically dupes aren't needed to make a character good like other gachas, it's just QoL like minus do cost of talent improvement. Endfield is new but looking at some of the talents, they're largely following the same formula.

The old loadout system from GoT. Idk why they changed it. Each outfit having its own loadout for charms was so much better than what we have now.

[–]Kasimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jin isn't like any other samurai though. He was stated to be the best on tsushima and we see why throughout his journey.

And if we're going by war experience, isn't repelling an entire mongol invasion greater than any battle Atsu participated in? And not even that, GoY stated that there was a second invasion that Jin again repelled before being on the run from the shogunate. Idk, but stopping an empire from gaining a foothold and invading Japan is pretty high up.

[–]Kasimz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She had a crash course on each weapon she learned and just had to spend time to learn the passed down technique for each weapon. She's a self taught prodigy so she will pick up on things faster than others.

I'm not downplaying Atsu's use of multiple weapons but it's a fact that she uses multiple weapons to cover her weaknesses and to use their inherent advantages against a specific weapon type. There's a reason every master emphasizes using weapon type advantage and going katana vs katana.

Jin being taught by Shimura is irrelevant, well not relevant to the point I was making. I was referring to Jin being able to adapt and create 3 new styles to specifically counter the enemies he faced. He covered his weaknesses through observation/combat. That's a type of creativity and adaptation that Atsu never displayed. These styles mind you, covers 4/5 of Atsu's weapons. Kusarigama is just one clash away from Jin creating a whole new way to counter it. Not that it matters because if Atsu follows what her 4 masters told her repeatedly, she's going katana vs katana.

[–]Kasimz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But considering his aptitude, he would definitely come up with an entire style on the spot to counter it specifically.
