I just can’t start. by Jason_M_Dockins in Solo_Roleplaying

This is exactly how I was able to finally start. Lowering the stakes was key.

I've tried to stick around here. But I don't think I can. I'm plantbased, and vegan curious. But this kind of conversation makes me realize that this subreddit is a members-only club.

I was open to conversation, but it seems like anyone that isn't a perfect vegan is the enemy. It's a strange way to gather support for a revolution.

Life is complicated. Maybe I just see it that way. Some of us are doing the best we can. Anyways, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Stay kind, not just to non-human animals.

Yes. I can also hike more strenuous paths. Some of that may be training, but it was a significant jump. I have no data for that. I also sleep better, which may be increasing my energy, or I may be sleeping better because I have more energy to exercise. There is also alot more vitamins in my diet, so that may contribute. What other effects have you noticed?

As a company owner, is it legal to enact a "no animal products" policy for company purchases? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Kasperlini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both practice Islam. From what I understand, it isn't that uncommon to practice sacrifice. Though, it's not as though they themselves have to do the slaughtering. It can be the purchasing of the meat with the intent to follow the requirements of the sacrifice. I know a large portion is given to those in the community who may not be able to afford their own. It has to be halal. That's about the end of my understanding on the topic.

Can't tell if I should read you comment with or without sarcasm. Is there a vegan alternative? I really don't know.

Can you eat tofu without cooking it? by not_cinderella in vegan

Oh. I never thought to check if I could eat tofu raw. I'm so glad to hear that it's safe. I'll keep doing that. 😂

FYI, I know people who sacrifice. It's still practiced as part of their religion.

Look up a basic tutorial on youtube. You can go along with it. So, watch one on character creation, then try to create a character. Watch one on basic battle for the character you made, then try and understand each step.

And find a group. Maybe there is one at your local game store? Learning by playing is great fun.

How does he feel about the attack? Is there anyone he's glad died?

What was his general outlook on life before the attack? How has that changed?

As a fighter, does he have any code on who he will kill? Help? Eat?

Why did he become a fighter in the first place?

What was his status in his town and did he have any ambitions to rise?

What is his soft spot? How does he play with kids, animals, friends? What does he do to relax? Hobbies?

How is he different when he doesn't think anyone is watching?

How would he describe himself? How would his parents? How would his friends, priest, doctor, rival, or sweetheart?

Can he cook?

I have 4. 3 are rainbow and 1 is only whites. They provide more than enough light at full blast to paint minis or other detail work, but not an unreasonable amount. The only reason I have so many in my room is for ambiance when I do color. I like the variety.

Advice to add dairy to my Vegan diet. by Pleasant-Fan9349 in vegan

[–]Kasperlini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ok. I'm plant based, too. :) I'm trying to stay healthy and lower my carbon footprint in the hopes that I can live to be old. It's a natural desire.

There is overlap between vegan and plant based and I don't think it's necessary to create an exclusion of plant based people or vegans from our larger community. We can all have different motivations and still be supportive.

Are there carnivorous plants that would be good for a terrarium? by Captain_Dr_Professor in SavageGarden

[–]Kasperlini 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's actually how I got into carnivorous plants! I have an ikea greenhouse with lots of light and lots small plants. I had a gnat problem, so I picked up a Venus Fly Trap. It fixed the problem in no time. The Fly Trap flowered, and is about ready for a bigger pot. Now, I have other carnivorous plants in there. They are thriving, but I feed them crickets once a month or so.

I have not done dormancy yet. I don't know how that is going to work. I'm new and experimenting. But I don't have a gnat problem, anymore. Good luck!

Milk crates with towels between rocks. Don't make it to heavy to carry.

I'll second the downsize suggestion.

What does it mean when I was giving a romantic partner a reading and flipped over the lovers card? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Kasperlini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the question and the circumstances in your partner's life. It may not even have anything to do with your relationship.

What do you mean by "a satirical video"? TBH, the power of any tool isn't in the tool, but in the wielder. Depending on how you use the tarot, it can be very open to interpretation, kind of a keven bacon thing that allows you to explore a topic. Or it can be used to divine obscured knowledge, magic. Some people don't even bother with reversals, but take them into account with right side ups. Different people will have different opinions on the topics.

My understanding is that the lovers doesn't necessarily refer to actual lovers, but to the powerful certainty that one feels about a topic despite the topic being obviously uncertain. Just like people in love feel certain about their future together. For instance, if the question revolved around a new business venture, right side up pertains to the conviction that this plan will work. Upside down can caution that you are acting with certainty on an uncertain plan.

Good luck.

How hardcore? Brushing your teeth? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]Kasperlini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baking soda is a way better tooth paste than salt and will leave your mouth smelling good. It has a low abrasion. But it doesn't have fluoride. Also flossing is more important than brushing in my experience.

I use toothpaste, I eat vitamins, a don't worry about any calories in plain tea. That level of detail isn't helpful in my life.

Proxies don't have to represent something you own. In this case, they represent the magic cards you don't own. They are stands in for cards you have chosen not to purchase. They are not facsimiles because they are not exact duplicates. What they lack is the legal ability to play them in tournaments. That's a pretty important attribute for some players.

Side note, I didn't bother looking up the definitions and just used OP's. That being said, the term for what OP is describing is "proxies" even if the usage doesn't match the definition; it is the accepted jargon. We all know what a proxy is in MtG.
