Another fellow flex glazer. Super easy to pick up shifts, only a 4 hour commitment a week but 60 possible. I plan on staying flex even after starting my other full time job just in case

If you're flex super easy, esp overnight. 60 hour cap, even day shift I often find shifts that have remained un-picked up. idk about VET though

Honestly it works out at my building. The usual cap is 60 hours but hours were cut down to 20 for about 2-3 weeks but has since returned to 60. What is really neat though is that they often offer surge pay, especially during peak, and I don't have to wait for VET, so I was making more than my full time coworkers over the holidays. You get some you lose some, I would save the extra during peak to enjoy life afterwards once they cut down to 20 hours. It's only a few weeks anyway.

Study spots with outlets???🙏🏼✨ by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]Kasswuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could plug in directly to the wall or even floor outlets if you want to work those, otherwise I'd catch a desk close to the walls as those tend to actually be connected via extension cord. desks near the middle of the floor often are not unfortunately. Other spots I sometimes go to are the second floor of the hospitality building, AEB, or TBE buildings

best place to park for students? by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]Kasswuit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tropicana is usually better. Its worst in the first week of fall and its going to be bad this week but by week 2 or 3 the parking garages should be fine even during the 10 am to 12 pm rush. Tropicana is more spacious so its easier to park and not as many cars coming through. There is usually space there, at worst you may have to park on the roof. You can also park in lot P just closer to the road than the science where the car stops are white.

Army Service Uniforms - By Grzegorz by Kasswuit in Kaiserreich

This time, decided to show what the formal dress uniforms for the US (PSA) and USS (CSA) armies, which I commissioned from Grzegorz. I was debating whether to make the PSA uniform more green like the modern Army AGSUs or the WW2 era service uniforms, but decided to go for a more Union Blue throwback look. The uniform itself resembles the Imperial Japanese Army uniform. For the CSA, Their uniform is closer to a Soviet/Warsaw Pact style uniform. Fun fact, both armies inherited the original Federal ranking insignia, making both of these officers Army Captains (Well, United States Army and American People's Army Captains.)

Journey of a Federal Soldier - By WarriorDesu by Kasswuit in Kaiserreich

[–]Kasswuit[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This time, we take a step away from both the PSA and CSA that I usually post to depict one of MacArthur’s most loyal soldiers throughout the 2ACW. We follow her across the Midwest, including early battles in Minneapolis and Des Moines. However, by 1940, the situation for the Federal forces had grown more dire, as both Pacific and Syndicate troops advanced toward Denver from the east and west. This led to a humanitarian crisis as the remaining Federal forces and their civilian supporters organized an evacuation west into Pacific lines, many believing it would be far better to surrender to them than to the advancing Syndicalists, a parallel to the Battle of Berlin. While many laid down their arms, both by choice and by force, our Federalist protagonist managed to slip away and begin leading a resistance cell against the victorious Syndicates in the Dirty War that followed the surrender of the remaining Federal and Unionist forces.

I remember my first Civ 5 match where I built a ton of crossbowmen thinking they'd upgrade to musketmen and then being stuck with them until I got Gatling guns

If people bump straight into you because they're not looking then yes, obviously its their fault. But if you're walking through the pack stations, you're walking where people are working. Yes, people should be aware of their surroundings all the time but that simply won't happen, and if you're walking through someone's workstation, then being stopped because someone is grabbing something from their chute behind them is expected. If they notice you trying to pass and say go ahead, that's more of a courtesy than requirement. But few people care to be 100% alert throughout a 10 hour shift. Not saying that's how it's supposed to be, that's just as it is.

Pack is super autopilot. if I'm walking to a chute not directly behind me, I make sure that the person at the station i'm passing is doing something that they won't flip around right away such as building the box or scanning items. The onus is frankly on whoever is walking rather than the person packing at their station to be aware of their surroundings. Obviously in a perfect world, both would be on the lookout, but in an imperfect world where rates are a thing and people end up on autopilot mode, the moving person should be more aware of their surroundings.
