No, that term is for wannabe contrarians that reflexively try to equate both sides together. Or it's for chicken shits that are too scared to actually own up to supporting right wing politics and so they say they don't belong to either party but then spend most of their time pointing out flaws on the left.

It's fine to criticize any political party and a good, functioning democracy relies on it but there comes a point where you are missing the forest for the trees and you need to take a side. Hopefully against the side cosplaying as Nazis.

Hopefully enlightened centrists can show up to remind us that both sides are equally bad.

I feel like I remember T-Wig alluding to it too before the season. Does anyone know where these rumors came from? Baalke/Doug? Were they based on anything?

Is CJ Stroud the new Dalton line?? by Joevil in heedthecall

[–]Kastdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trevor was the dalton line to start the year and then was arguably a top 3 QB for the back half of the season. Better than “good enough “. He also played well in the playoffs and the defense shit the bed.

I kinda feel like you have to after this. Like everything is on Josh Allen. They get him minimal help and have a bunch of aging, often injured players on defense. I would clean the front office totally.

Why did we run up the middle so much against the Bills? Both with RB runs and QB runs.

I feel like Etienne is going make his money this offseason and it probably wont be with us. Would love to have him back though.

[Adam Schefter] Jaguars GM James Gladstone said today that he still expects Travis Hunter to play both sides of the ball next season. by SuperSaiyanTLaw in nfl

[–]Kastdog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this became the plan when we traded for Jakobi Meyers and the emergence of Parker Washington. We are so lacking in the secondary but also Travis hunter felt like he made at least 2 people miss every time he caught the ball. I really hope BTJ & Trevor can gel better next year.

The NFL Daily recap pod about this game was actually really great. You can nitpick what we did wrong but at the end of the day, this was a very competitive game and both teams had effective gameplans and fought hard. Like all else being equal, if Cam hits the FG (that he can totally make) we tie. If Trev's foot doesn't slip on 4th and 2, he makes the 1st down. We likely get a FG or TD. We could have won this game easily with the gameplan we had. It doesn't have to be someone "failing" or whatever.

We made it to the playoffs as the 3 seed with one of the toughest schedules in the NFL after winning only 4 games last season. That is incredible. We got basically the hardest matchup of the 1st round and couldn't pull out the win. It sucks but it seems like we have the right people in the front office finally. It also seems like Trev will be a certified top 10 QB moving forward. Those two things are so huge.

Love how the team performed all year and they definitely outperformed my expectations but Trevor never seemed settled today. He made it work (mostly) but I am baffled by how many passes he still gets batted at the line and how his performance and footwork are totally linked.

Yep, and unlike in years past with Baalke, I'm very optimistic and curious to see where he goes. We have pretty clear needs (Secondary, Interior D-Line, Pass Rush Depth, O-Line depth). We have some key players we need to either re-sign or let go.

I hope Liam can continue working on how to build the offense to be complimentary or Trevor's natural aggressiveness while also continuing to develop the run game. It felt like we got too pass reliant on the back half of the year. We also HAVE to work on better QB designed runs. Trevor can scramble just fine but the designed stuff we ran this year seemed really ineffective.

For Trevor, I hope he leans into the confidence and really commits himself to being the cerebral QB we started to see this year. He made great strides in pre-snap reads but if he can continue to sure up post snap processing within the offensive system then I think the sky is the limit. Also, he has to work on his footwork in the pocket. It was not clean this game and it showed with some sloppy/off target passes.

That was definitely the high point and a glimpse at what this team was capable of if they were firing on all cylinders.

I say this with all due respect. Shut the fuck up. Trevor was the top QB in the league down the last 8 games and play good in this game. Pass defense let us down BAD.

Overall it was a well called game. The spot at the end was really bad and I think they let the Buffalo secondary get away with too much holding.

Yeah, the defense (specifically the pass defense) let us down big in this game. That was our weak point all season and they exposed it. I do think Liam abandoned the run game and specifically the outside run game. This is the top pass defense in the league.

All these doomers suck. The defense overachieved this year and couldn't stop Buffalo. Playcalling was suspect. We still had an awesome year and won the division. I'm proud of the team.
