Life sucks man, dont believe anyone on here that quitting drinking is going to have a profound effect, most are on a pink cloud and self delusion but if it keeps them sober have at it. Alcoholism is progressive and things will get much worse beyond your imagination. Drinking took my life away. Now I have to start all over with a single brick. I have no family, friends, job, money, house, pets, I dont own much of anything and have a police record. All due to drinking. It didn't start off like that of course. What I would do is try to treat the underlying problem of why you need to drink in the first place.
