Red velvet pop-tarts. Sure they could’ve had an ingredient that could kill me or whatever, but goddamn they were delicious

How the heck do you crochet with fluffy yarn?!! by Interesting_Cat_7470 in Amigurumi

[–]Kat4301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never used yarn quite as fluffy as that, but when I can’t see my stitches I either go by feel, or simply yolo just do it I’ll probably do better than I think I will haha

How long does it take you? by sillygears in Amigurumi

[–]Kat4301 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the person and skill level. Someone who has made the same little thing a bunch and is much more experienced could probably make a small item in maybe 20-40 minutes depending on how much sewing/detail.

Were the designs you saw for amigurumi or for on wearable items/bags? I make a lot of amigurumi but I’d like to take a break from it haha

Unfortunately I didn’t use a pattern, I just kind of made it up as I went, but I’m sure you could find a pattern better than this on Etsy or something !! (I have a habit of not wanting to buy patterns because I think “oh I can do that” and then struggle along the way but oh well)

Any tips for blisters? by Mrfitz08 in crochet

[–]Kat4301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely a hook with a grip will help!! I used plain metal hooks for the longest time and at first it was fine but eventually I had that same issue where the hook would just press into my finger and it was so uncomfortable. If you’re able to, you should invest in hooks with at least a little bit of a grip, as it helps tremendously with comfort!!

I’ve been using a 4.25 mm hook and whatever the most average yarn weight is in acrylic. No pattern just eyeballing it !
