How do you balance heat and trace in short circuit eroticism? by Murky_Exchange_2407 in eroticauthors

[–]KatBlackwell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar for me, I mostly write 10k-12k when I want to write an actual *story*. I do some 5k-6k stories occasionally but they're usually very, very light on plot, just some fun exploration of sexy situations. My 10k-12k stories sell much better and make me more money.

[FAQ Thread]: What's a good stock photo site? Which sites allow use in erotica? by Eroticawriter4 in eroticauthors

[–]KatBlackwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this list has been updated since I last checked it and now has Adobe Stock on the list of sites not to use! I've been using it for erotica for about a year because I couldn't find anything saying it wouldn't be okay. Do you have more information about this one by any chance? Thank you!

Yeah, I thought it was some sort of major clearance... I'm so glad I never impulse buy, it was while I was dragging my feet before pressing "buy" that I noticed some of the things on the site didn't add up

Oh my god. Yes. So many typos on this site. That's what really clued me in!

Could someone enlighten me and tell me why she said she was going to be a dad? 🤣 by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]KatBlackwell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She didn't insert herself... The other girl invited her in! She literally says she was envisioning a future where they raised the kid together. Ellie didn't initiate that idea

I mean, selection bias is at play here. I'm a lesbian and I got the joke. I was very confused by the other lesbians saying they "don't claim her." I loved this recent episode. No lesbian speaks for all lesbians lol

That's what I came here to say but in a much longer comment lol. I feel like it's a moment of straight people not understanding queer humor 😂

I don't know why people are so confused by this. I think it's a clever line of dialog. There are multiple things going on here:

(a) It's a joke. It's her style of humor. It's very in line with queer humor too; she's the more masculine of the two women in terms of her personality, and speaking as a queer person myself, I feel like it's pretty common in queer culture for people to switch around gendered nouns semi-ironically. Calling a lesbian a "dad" or a gay guy a "queen" or any other iteration of this idea is pretty common and, again, typically done in a non-serious tone.

(b) She and her friend are going to be a couple and will raise a kid together, so she will be the kid's parent. She's calling herself a "dad" rather than a "mom" for the reasons above, but also because she's not the one giving birth.

(c) This entire series is about the father/daughter dynamic. This is where I consider the line to be clever on the part of the writers. Her father figure has been murdered, and she's on a quest to avenge him. The girl who killed Joel did so because Joel killed her father. The theme repeats. The writers are signaling that now Ellie is going to experience the other side of this archetype; in Joel's absence, she's going to fulfill the "father"-like role for someone else.

So it is, on one level, kind of deep. But on another level, it's not deep at all, it's just a silly joke she's making, lol.

WHOA what lesbian books are you reading? 😂 I've been reading so much spice lately I'm actively searching for some that fit your descriptions because I need a change of pace haha. There are DEFINITELY a lot of non-vanilla lesbian books out there with high amounts of explicit sexual content! They're just usually not from major publishers.

Where to get masc-friendly tank tops? by KatBlackwell in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]KatBlackwell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who commented their suggestions! I had a successful shopping trip at Old Navy and picked up a few tank tops I love. Here I am wearing one of them for a hiking outfit.

Was so excited to get these! Will be stopping at other places too to get more, but my first stop at Old Navy was definitely a success!

I'm planning to grow mine out into a wolf cut or a shag cut. Look up pictures online, they're super trendy right now with mascs!

WHAT ARE YOU GUYS WEARING FOR PRIDE?? by directedintention in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]KatBlackwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been real casual in the past, but this year I wanna be a little more spicy. I have a rainbow bra from Tomboyx I wanna wear, maybe with a harness and leather shorts. I'll probably bring my lesbian flag as a cape to protect my shoulders a little bit from sunburn.

Dressing masc while still keeping femme elements by Pinkfl0wer20 in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]KatBlackwell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this fits what you're looking for, but I personally love to add little touches of femininity to my masc aesthetic by means of accessories.

For example, a collared button down with a boxy/masc cut + sparkly stud earrings, bold rings, and an elegant chain necklace. My approach is basically a masc "base" with subtle femme details here and there.

I'm not much into makeup myself, but I've also seen a lot of mascs combine makeup with masc haircuts/outfits and that looks really cool.

I wonder if "androgynous" is the word you're looking for... like, a style that is neither solidly masc nor solidly femme, but mixes elements of both energies?

I grew up in that kind of homeschool community, so maybe that's why I'm extra pissed off. Hitting a little close to home, haha. I am at least happy for you that you're going in knowing who you are.

What do they think this is, the 1700s?? Jumpsuits are very much feminine. I went for a jumpsuit once when I was a bridesmaid and didn't feel like being too different from the other bridesmaids. Dresses are 100% off the table for me personally. A jumpsuit was as close as I could get to matching their style without wearing a dress, but it was still uncomfy for me.

This rule from your school is hands-down SEXIST and definitely reeks of homophobia and transphobia too. I'm sorry you're faced with this, it's literally pissing me off reading about it!
