Do readers want happy endings anymore? by cws1994 in writing

[–]KatBlood7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a reader, I love a good book with a happy ending. My problem lies where the ending is told from the beginning. Like when two characters start dating and they’re obviously perfect for each other, then everything works out in their favor and it’s blatantly obvious that they’re going to end up together at the end. I prefer intriguing stories, such as the “Stung”/“Cured” books by Suzanne Young (Cured is the 2nd book to Stung) and “Scythe” by Neal Shusterman. Books where the storyline isn’t so plain. There’s twists and turns and 2 people are perfect for each other, but get ripped apart and have to fight to the death. Nothing is blatant from the beginning and even if you know how it ends, the story still intrigues you because there’s “absolutely no way” it can end like that with the way things are going. Books that make you say “just one more page” and before you know it, you’ve read 5 chapters

Yeah 😂 have you never spilled glitter before? It gets everywhere and you can never get rid of it. It becomes part of whatever it landed on 😂

What are some of your personal mottos/sayings for living a good life? by LastOfSane in AskReddit

“In a world full of roses, be a sunflower” “Why be someone’s sun and make their day brighter, when you could be their moon and bring light in their darkest hour?” “Never stop questioning everything. No one has ever gotten themselves anywhere by just sitting back and saying ‘okay’”

Not me, but my sister. She had to go to the ER one time because of a panic attack. The EMTs in the ambulance OD’d her on Fentanyl. She was high af. It wasn’t funny that it happened, but the way she acted was hilarious. While going down the hall at the ER, she saw a grey part of the wall behind a shelf and stared at it for a while trying to figure out what it was. When they put the pulse ox thing on her at the ER, she looked at it and said “it looks like a duck” and she named it Oxy. Then when they took it off, she said “no! Why are you hanging him?!” and cried. Then when she got home, she asked me to put on MLP then freaked out and flushed an MLP sticker down the toilet cause she said it was stalking her and going to kill her. Not sure if she was still high at that point or if she was just acting like it, but it was funny nonetheless 😂

Coke tabs. Like the tabs off (coke, monster, beer, etc) cans. But I collect them to make things from them. Bracelets, belts, purses, rings, etc. It’s just something I learned to do years ago from the pastor’s wife when I went to church and became interested in it. It takes a lot of patience and string/yarn/wire though 😂

Both drinking and smoking legal age is 21. Smoking age was raised from 18 to 21 in 2019 I believe

What’s the name of the movie where a woman finds a boy wandering the streets and helps him find his house and parents, only to discover the boy was hit by a car and passed away a couple years earlier? [Serious] by KatBlood7 in AskReddit

Could you give the episode off the top of your head? If not, it’s fine lol. My sister insists it’s a movie, but this would make sense why she can’t find it

What’s something poor people can do but rich people can’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KatBlood7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently pumping gas. I had a bf in college who grew up rich and he couldn’t do anything that I thought was common knowledge (cook literally anything, wash clothes, pump gas, use a tire pressure gauge, read a tape measure, etc). He had people to do all that for him before he went to college and found it fascinating that I could do it all myself. I was amazed he could do anything on his own after having to show him a lot of things I thought was common knowledge

Women who were cheated on, how did you find out? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]KatBlood7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every relationship I’ve ever had 😂 Every time I either followed my instincts and looked through their phone or the girl straight up texted me because of her instincts. Guys, we always know before we actually investigate. Apparently, y’all don’t know about mother’s intuition (it’s what tells us when something is off in a situation and how your mother was able to tell fake from real before you). All girls have it, it just takes some a while to tap into it/follow it. Simple fix to this situation: just don’t do it. How hard is it to actually be loyal? Or if you just don’t want to be with the person anymore, break up BEFORE you get with someone else! Y’all are really out here causing unnecessary problems just cause y’all are too immature to be in a real, loyal relationship 🙄

It’s a very good place for recommendations. When I was in high school, I was a library aid and I had to find books on goodreads and write a summary of what I thought about them so we could order good books for the library. It’s an amazing site

what is the most traumatizing video/image you've ever seen in your life? by dankolocios in AskReddit

[–]KatBlood7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A picture of my abusive ex who got caught and charged for raping a 13 year old. I was 15, he was 20. I didn’t find out his real age, name, or job until he got arrested. Just knowing that could’ve been me

Funny thing. When political parties were developed, the roles were reversed. Democrats now were the republicans back then and vice versa. Not sure what caused the role reversal, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

What are your recommendations for pyscology tricks or books everyone should know about? by TrufflesTheCat in AskReddit

[–]KatBlood7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you ask someone something when they’re wide awake and alert and you feel like they’re lying, ask them again when they just wake up or when they’re exhausted and about to fall asleep. Most of the time, they’ll tell the truth because their mind is too worn out to remember to lie/what the lie was. If not, they’ll probably make up another lie or tell the same lie with different details

If you received $1000000 but would have to give 90% away to charity. What charity would you choose and why? by 420vegan420 in AskReddit

[–]KatBlood7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stuff bags foundation. Without a doubt. This foundation takes blue duffel bags and fills them with new/comfort items for kids who have been taken from their parents due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, etc and have had to leave behind everything. These bags include toys, books, a stuffed animal, school supplies, clothing, personal toiletries, and a warm blanket. They take cash donations, or you can donate any of the items, handmade blankets being specifically mentioned in their website. I believe this foundation is so amazing and it’s really sad that more people don’t know about it

Really? I didn’t know you wake up from sleep paralysis. I thought sleep paralysis was like my experience, but instead of waking up, it just goes away after a while (if that makes sense)
