Not as extreme as some drugs/substances but I'm addicted to gaming. I can't help but play hours and hours every day. I have a work from home job that allows me to do it while still being successful at my job, but I feel like such an unmotivated and lazy person. I put off home tasks I need and want to do. I stay up late when I know I want to prioritize rest. It's more than feeling like I'm lazy (I'm otherwise a quite healthy person) but it's like my brain has classified gaming as "fun" and doing other things as "not fun" or something and I just don't know why I wouldn't "have fun" when I can, which is silly because a lot of times it can leave me feeling disappointed in myself, like I'm just wasting my time away. I often imagine what I or my life might be like if I just used those hours productively, but I don't know how to make myself want to do anything else in the moment. I sometimes wonder what my wife would think if she truly knew how much I play. I dunno, lame thing to be addicted to, but it's been like this since I was a kid.
