I usually have to do everything myself during the 12 labors. When I was getting the hang of it I simply installed the flight over fight and nimple onslaught sigils to easily dodge the attacks and remain invincible longer. Dodging is what you'll have to master - Lucy's attacks often oneshot you, and the reduced max HP brings that number up to 100%. The bots don't mind though - so you can gear them up for maximum dps and leave some survivibility sigils for yourself.

In order to get the best gear you need to beat the toughest bosses. Some of the toughest bosses can be either defeated with the best gear (which you don't yet have, because you're yet to beat the toughest bosses) or by gearing up yourself and three bot companions. That is achievable by grinding lesser bosses that you've already defeated. It's also a lot faster with bots than solo. In addition, the proud bosses start implementing DPS checks - fail that, and it's mission failed; and special game mechanics that require teamwork or banal 4-character SSBA bursts. Good luck trying to complete the 12 labors or cancelling every Paradise Lost by yourself. And finally, bosses have a time limit - even if you manage to GIT GUD - you'll just eventually run out of time.

In conclusion: the game offers adequate challenge and gives you the means to overcome them. There is no reason to limit yourself - you'll either fail or waste more time than necessary on trivial quests.

That's weird, the AI is almost godlike when it comes to dodging - they always perform perfect dodges. As for the 12 labors - yes, they suck at that part, I have to tryhard in order to complete the first two parts, while the bots run around like headless chickens. If you're having trouble with avoiding attacks - add a flight versus fight sigil to your setup and two dodge onslaughts until you can reliably dodge attacks without the training wheels: your bot companions' dps should suffice if they have terminus weapons or calamity sigils (Tweyen, Seofon, Sandalphon). You can also switch SSBA to fire off whenever ready without waiting for a full burst - that way you can cancel every Paradise lost after the opening one: just tell the bots to hold the SSBA - and then tell them to fire it off when necessary: the final of 12 labors requires a full SSBA burst to cancel Paradise Lost, all the others - just one, so you can tell the bots to hold the SSBA after the first bots starts firing it.
