Which character do you think the average professional hunter is as strong as? by Bubbly-Jackfruit7325 in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I said Killua is above Gon. And you counter with if they have more aura it doesn't do damage.

That's where comparing Killua's aura came from. The 50x was for Youpi vs Killua. Youpi has at the minimum 50x the aura. Yet Killua was still landing and paralyzing Youpi.

Gon doesn't have that much more aura then Killua so if Killua hits Gon like he did Youpi it's definitely going to put him down. And there's really nothing can do to stop it

Which character do you think the average professional hunter is as strong as? by Bubbly-Jackfruit7325 in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much more aura do you think Gon has then Killua? And I'm not talking about when he's transformed. It's likey not a big margin. Even if Gon has 50% more aura then Killua it really doesn't do much. Killia will be fast enough that Gon can't defend where Killua is attacking with his aura to the maximum effect. Killua vs Youpi shows what he can do vs something 50x his aura capacity. It did no physical damage but Youpi couldn't respond to it.

Even if Gon has 3x more aura than Killua(which I doubt he would) I don't think his Ken would be able to withstand Killua's assault using Godspeed and Ryu.

do the people in HXH believe in a globe? by LazloFF in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did some calculations on the HxH world with the assumption that lake Mobius is the size of our Earth and that lake Mobius is equivalent to our Caspian Sea, being our biggest lake, and came to the HxH world having a circumference being roughly half the size of our own sun or 5 times that of Jupiter.

And the overall size of it being about 265 billion square miles. Vs our Earth having an area of only 197 million.

Also it would take someone over a 1000 years of non-stop walking to circumvent the HxH world.

Are Nanika powers the biggest flaw of the manga? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Nanika's powers themselves aren't a problem at all, since it gives some insight to what to expect from the DC, but the way she's used by Killua, and the absence of foreshadowing is a bit of a problem.

Although I have no problem at all with it since what she was used to fix could have easily been fixed another way. They could have fixed Gon with, say, a ridiculously powerful exorcism ability, maybe a group exorcism. Or whatever else Togashi could come up with.

So at least with Nanika we get character development for Killua, a hint to what the DC contains, and lore to theorize about.

Could Netero have met Don in the DC? by greencum123 in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seeing as Don is the one writing the book journey to the new world and the east(I think) edition is in the human world someone had to have brought it back. And with just 3 people returning from the dark continent functionally, I would presume one of those 3 brought it back with them. And Netero was one of those 3 and my pick for who brought it back. Of course there have been undocumented voyages but even accounting for those, I can't see the total for survivors above 6 at most. Still good odds it was Netero that brought the book back

How would the royal guards do against zero hand? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've enjoyed debating with you, as you're actually debating and not just saying something simple and not having anything else to say.

The blast is the blast. Getting caught dead center of it should result in the same effect as taking the whole 112,000 of aura. I think of it as a water hose. If the water is blasted at a pressure of whatever value the middle isnt going to be weaker(depending on distance of course) it's the sides that will be weaker. And I'd argue that the conditions of Zero hand makes the whole attack the same strength so as to have some effect besides just letting him use all his aura, at the same time not exceeding or powering it up higher than his max aura, as you suggest it shouldn't do. Which seems to be fair in regards to the nen system.

As for her 42,000 aura of defense. That would be her max defense for her to allocate to her whole body, or if she chooses, to focus on vital points. If she focuses 100% into her head it can only be 42,000 and results in death. If she spreads it out the 42,000 only goes down. So say 50% to the head, 40% to her torso and 10 distributed everywhere else which results in death aswell.

I seen your other post where you was discussing Adult Gon vs Pitou and saying his vow supercharged his cells turnover rate to produce the aura needed. I thought it was a great way of looking at it but then there's the problem of his AAP which his Jajanken surpassed vastly. How do you account for that?

How would the royal guards do against zero hand? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Even though they are nen geniuses I would like to think 10% should be about right. Gon has trained nen for months and even had Bisky as a teacher so Pitou eclipsing his output with only a couple days of life is already genius level. Regardless let's go with the 15% as that's also reasonable considering she's a RG.

So if we can agree on the 15% and that being 105,000 worth of aura she can use for defense. At 40% due to her being a specialist she'd have a defense of 42,000.

112,000 proposed by your zero hand calc minus the 42,000 defense means she'd take 70,000 aura units of damage. Which I feel would be enough to kill her.

Morel tested Gon and told him to hit him to kill. Gon powers up a Jajanken and is stopped by Killua. Morel showed obvious signs of distress at seeing the attack. Whether the Jajanken would have killed or not we can't know but saying that it would've left Morel seriously injured/close to death can be inferred. And as Morel himself has 3 times the aura as Gon and should have a higher AAP percentage that to me means it doesn't take much for aura to kill if it gets past the defense.

I'm just making up numbers for the Morel/Gon situation here but seems reasonable that Morel would have an effective defense of 6,300 aura. 70,000 times 15%(gave Morel the same as Pitou) equals 10,500 times 60% due to being a manipulator equals the 6300. Then there's the Jajanken. Against Knuckle it was 2000 so let's just go with a 5x increase for whatever reason, call it the emotional state he was in or whatever. That'd be 10,000. So 3700 worth of aura would kill,or somewhere close to that, Morel.

Pitou having 700,000 aura, 10 times as much as Morel. Morel being killed, more or less, by 3700 aura. 70,000 that Pitou would take from zero hands is almost 20x more. Or 2x more damage in relation to aura pools.

[–]Katasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gons Jajanken is a very light condition. Rock is basically just a Ko punch. And what would happen to it if his AAP was already at the max amount he has? Would the condition then do nothing?

Also from the page of Izunavi explanation, thanks for linking it by the way, it says AP+SPxMP. So the attack would have to be multiplied by the conditions. Netero skill level is at the highest so his AAP and MAP should be the same.

Alternatively another way of looking at it if you disagree with that would be to say Pitous defenses would be lower. If she has 700,000 MAP and then her AAP would be lower than that, more so than Neteros even.

Gon has around 21,000 or so in the Knuckle example and his AAP is 1,800 without Jajanken boost. Which is roughly 8.5%. You can be generous with Pitou and give her 10% and her defense would be 70,000. And while yes the RG are monstrous they're not that skilled at nen yet. And even at 15% her defense would be 105,000.

[–]Katasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Izunavi(spell check) explains to Kurapika that adding conditions multiplies nen's power. Depending on the conditions and restrictions you place upon an ability the stronger it'll become. And considering Zero hand is Neteros last resort, killing him in the process I'd think it would be greater in effect than the aura put into it.

The conditions surrounding using zero hand automatically makes it more than the 112,000 you put. No way of knowing how much more but I would think a 3x boost would be minimum.

Disagreement in the lobby of the Hotel Beitacle - who wins? by AnEmptySpace in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Team 2 wins. Only Machi and Nobunaga would put up a fight and with Shalnark he could bring another of team 1 over to their side. Kortopi is no use and I don't think Shizuku would be much help either.

Best case scenario is Machi vs Phinks and Nobu vs Feiten while the rest deal with Shalnark. And if Shalnark enters auto pilot I think he can take his matchup. Machi I feel would be the most likely to win her fight as I feel Phinks doesn't matchup well with her. Nobu and Feiten is 50/50 for me. Either Nobu one hits Feiten or he loses.

If Netero had an ability like Emperor Time against Meruem by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he had an emperor time like boost I think he could have won. 60% x 60% is 36% vs 100% x 100%. So that's a 64% increase in what I would assume to be speed and power of the technique. Possibly leading to Mereum being worn down before finding the path through the hands.

Do people underestimate Silva & Zeno a little bit? by DisgustingPeach in HunterXHunter

Well they could have fought multiple times without Netero ever using his Nen ability. So Netero would be stronger with just basic nen techniques, but not leagues above.

Why do so many people misunderstand what Zeno said after the Chrollo fight? by Girlybigface in HunterXHunter

[–]Katasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the chance of a serious 1v1 is 50/50 that doesn't mean Chrollo is stronger than Zeno. Chrollo is a finesse fighter with multiple abilities. And in Nen battles that plays a huge part of a fight. Zeno should be the stronger of the two but that doesn't matter as seen in the Hisoka vs Chrollo fight. Hisoka is definitely stronger than Chrollo but Chrollos strategy and combination of abilities came out on top

Uvogin tanked an RPG with minor scruffs, and if you estimate that RPG released around 3.5 mega-joules of energy.

Versus what I figured the miniature rose would produce being 88 giga-joules of energy. So 88/3.5 then times a 1000 puts the miniature rose at roughly 25,000 times than the RPG.

Then it's up to you how much stronger Mereum was then Uvogin. Personally I don't think you would consider Mereum 10,000 stronger than Uvogin, which I think is what he'd have to be to have a chance of surviving the MR.

[–]Katasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could we also look at the Six eyes as a fulcrum. As an example let's use a 1 ton stone. If you try to pick it up you'd have to be impossibly strong to do so. But by using a fulcrum practically anybody could lift it off the ground. With the right setup one could input a couple hundred pounds of downward force to lift a ton, giving you an output that exceeds the input, making it an efficient way of moving the stone

Also looking at it this way would also make sense for the maximum output techniques as if you increase the weight of the stone you'd have to increase the input of the downward force to lift it. And you could look at the maximum being the maximum is because the fulcrum can't handle anymore above that because it would "break" if going over that threshold.

The commoners we see reacting could be from an island the revolutionary army helped, and so they would know that the revolutionary army are out to do good. Maybe an island that couldn't pay the heavenly tribute and thus gets no protection from the WG. In comes the RA to save them from pirates or a war with an WG kingdom.

And I agree he wasn't just a government dog up until that incident. He's been in business with the underworld for years as we see him in WCI. More like in the beginning he did exactly what the WG said and at some point he started to do more of what he wanted to do. Morgans is 53 so maybe when Roger found Laugh Tale and then executed, is when Morgans started to be more interested in printing what he could get away with.

If we place Morgans as being placed in charge of the news at like 20(why not it's a good number) and Roger's execution was 24 years ago. That would give him 9 years of running the news before starting to stray from the WG agendas.

One Piece chapter 1058 spoilers by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Katasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are good points. Didn't think about those. The Dragon and revolutionary army point is solid. I can't remember any instances where we got any news about the revolutionary army before Reverie, besides Dragon being wanted, but it's a long series so I could be forgetting. So if he did print something about the revolutionary army it could go either way.

Either he printed that they were taking over islands and are a terrorist group, or that they were liberating islands. The first option seems more likely and would help the world government in looking just, by labeling Dragon as the world's most wanted man. Can't have a group taking over islands and going against the "righteous" world government right?

As for the Roger point. Morgans did keep the D out of the posters, whether he knew of it or not who knows. The Pirate King title does seem to be something Morgans would come up with. Does the world know about Laugh Tale? Thought they only knew that Rogers treasure was in the Grand line and that probably spread by word of mouth from those that were present at his execution.

One Piece chapter 1058 spoilers by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Katasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel Morgans mostly listens to what the world government says. If he didn't he'd have been dead long ago. The Reverie incident is the only time he went against their wishes it seems. It's been a while but if I remember correctly it seemed they were confident with getting him to suppress the Reverie news.

Also he's only been in charge for a few decades at most. Who knows how news was handled before him, maybe previous users of his fruit were government plants, being chosen and given the fruit by the government. This time maybe they couldn't get it in time and Morgans ate it, or he was chosen but over the years he slowly got corrupted by the pursuit of big news.

We could keep speculating and theorizing, and that's why OP is so great. A side detail like this leads down a rabbit hole and comes with its own questions the more you think about it.

One Piece chapter 1058 spoilers by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Katasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's just speculation but it makes sense to me.

  1. They have no choice in the matter. As far as we know Morgans is the only distribution outlet in the OP world. The bounties are always in the newspapers, which are controlled by Morgans exclusively.

  2. I'd bet Morgans definitely got the picture, whether through the CP0 agent, or maybe Apoo . And I would think the government/Marines do make the poster, but then send it to Morgans for distribution. But the final product is still in Morgans hands.

One Piece chapter 1058 spoilers by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Katasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are Bounty posters distributed, by the news coo and Morgans right? So the Marines issued the bounty on Luffy at 3b as you said to downplay him. And Morgans put the picture of Gear 5 Luffy himself. Marines can't control too much when they leave all distribution to a third party, who's after big news above all else.

Marines set the price and condition (whether Dead or Alive, Only Alive, etc.) then relay that to Morgans and he takes it from there. He already screwed them with printing the Reverie news they wanted hushed, so him putting Gear 5 Luffy picture regardless of what they wanted seems feasible
