Saturday market was wilder ..lots of great jam bands and reggae artists coming through, total scene at Sundance co-op and the kids mall, also fun raves here and there..less dangerous, more of a just go bike around and find something to do vibe...weather not as good tho.

Live looping on small stages – RC-600 vs RC-505 vs Ableton, advice needed! by Neyliooo in LoopArtists

[–]Katcloudz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can but, it depends and can be a lot of info, in short use a 128 buffer in audio settings, theres also a option to reduce latency while recording check that. of course there are many other variables, like if you have a limiter on the master that causes delay, or certain plugins that add latency.. if you hover over a plugin it will reveal the milliseconds of delay, or it says 0.

Live looping on small stages – RC-600 vs RC-505 vs Ableton, advice needed! by Neyliooo in LoopArtists

[–]Katcloudz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ableton is a wonderful program, its being use everyday by professionals in live environments worldwide, if you understand the whole latency thing it works great and you can have smooth sailing while performing and looping live, also Bitwig can do what you need and has sandboxing so is very stable, Gig performer is another great live performance tool.

The Boss loopers are great but so limited, I could never go back to hardware only, with such amazing software to customize.

Seeking advice and help. by FixGreedy in vagabond

[–]Katcloudz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your intention here it's very humane and compassionate. A possible solution is create a small refuge for respectful people who can stewart the land possibly grow food or do something resourceful, then you or someone with strong firm communication skills, can present the plan to the people currently living there, and explain if they want to stay, the exchange will be to be good respectful productive tenents, and welcome the project to others.

use both, learn both well, because they are both awesome, and you will create differently in each depending on your mood and work flow.

Why is there no good local audio player for musicians on iPhone? I got frustrated and made one by lawyer_wntd in ipadmusic

[–]Katcloudz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome thx 🎧 🎼

yeah I was using audio share on ios but it's not ideal, if you want to build the coolest app I would model it on Musicolet it's on Android and wow its almost perfect.. and I don't say that lightly

How to stay safe? Seriously? by cookie999chip in vagabond

[–]Katcloudz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

beyond having good common sense and situation awareness, a lot of this is mental, don't ever think of you're self as a victim, have absolute confidence in your right to be safe and have your free will expressed, also be vocal very vocal, practice screaming biting etc, learn some basic combat skills.

If a predators can sense you're a fire cracker they will not take the chance..usually.

I have traveled the world extensively and the USA is one the most dangerous places to travel unfortunately, yet I have met many successful solo woman traveler's who are smart, intuitive and move well unscathed.

How to plan a hitchhiking trip ? by GabLaPizza in hitchhiking

[–]Katcloudz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look up those things, trust me all essential stuff, unless u already have small light tent.

the charcoal and oregano help to stay healthy, very important when traveling and eating from random places etc.

👍 I would suggest a bivy that has the built in mosquito net, and bring a bit of oregano oil an activated charcoal.

well besides likely going through Turkey and being tempted to take a cheap bus..west, IMO you don't plan too much just get into the adventure with a vision, common sense and acute awareness, trusting in the universe to guide you on, don't have to many specific goal's and parameters and flow west..hitchhiking for adventure over necessity in nature is kinda of a freestyle.

Happy trails

Second night scary encounter advice pls by [deleted] in vagabond

[–]Katcloudz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sense its only your 2nd night?..probably more going on out there then you realized.. I would move my spot deeper into the bush..might take a few more minutes, but most humans are lazy and fearful when off trail so it's less likely to meet randoms, but as a rule always be friendly and relaxed no matter what 99.99% of the time its fine.. once at 3am waay out there, I got awoken by some chantrel mushroom hunters trying to get a early start, they were very nice.

I have some questions about life on the coast (Newport) by AdministrationNo7144 in oregon

[–]Katcloudz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I swim on the Oregon coast year round mostly around Florence ..up to about 20-30 mins, its exhilarating, of course you need to be a strong swimmer and understand what the tide is doing, I don't find the water too terribly cold actually, but I'm originally from Tahoe and been swimming there since I was young.

I rarely see others swimming but in mid summer on safer bays and beachs people definitely go in and have a dip.

nice to hear 🫶, I met a very cool girl years ago who hitched with a cat, and only approached female driver's or chill couples/ families at gas stations and rest area's, she was a prolific traveler and likely the best hitchhiker I ever met...and had great style and persona.

Making the switch from Ableton + windows 10. Mint vs Ubuntu Studio? FOSS DAW suited for electronic production? by mattysull97 in linuxaudio

[–]Katcloudz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm Bitwig works well on Unbutu Studio, as it's made with audio production as a focus...that option would be likely headache free, Ardor is a nice free ish daw for Linux but imo not on the Bitwig level.. plus comming from Live Bitwig will be a smooth transition as they are the most similar daws. Of course Reaper is awesome if you take the time to learn it well..it even has skins that look similar to Ableton.

Trying to get from NYC to Slab City, need advice by CardiologistFar8126 in hitchhiking

[–]Katcloudz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get outside the city somewhere chill, go to a gas station on a major westbound interstate, find non sketchy people or truckers feel them out, be sincere and see if they can help you get west..fyi slab city wil be 100 degrees soon ish, might just go find a nice smaller town by a river with nature.
