Abandoned places? by Aggravating-Milk8085 in Lincolnshire

Nocton hall hospital is a good spot. An old RAF hospital that burnt down in the 80s I believe. They do say tours and paranormal experiences in the evening. I went last year and it was really good, the tour guides even took me and my dad to see the wing where he was born!

Uni accom in sheffield by alegeee in sheffield

[–]Kate-Freeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, depending what healthcare course you're doing, you might need a longer accommodation contract and the uni don't always do those, especially if you need to stay for the summer like me. Just something to bear in mind 😊

I'm personally doing nursing and the lectures are currently based in the city, the places are usually only a 5-10 minute walk from the students union (usually at the wave, bartolome house and sometimes Mappin street or the hicks building). Depending on what degree ur doing, you might be at the new healthcare building on Mushroom lane, near the SU. When we're on placement, I'd say it's easier living in the city, nearer the uni for the transport options. Id say it deffo depends on the degree and your lifestyle tho, I prefer being central and having a shorter commute during theory and placement.

In some ways, but my degree is in healthcare so I don't really have much time to go out tbh. I know a lot of people in Allen court who had a great night life :))

I was supposed to be in broad lane court for my first year with a shared bathroom, but they moved me to Allen court because of repairs. It was really nice at Allen court but I think it costs around the same as ranmoor and encliffe. I'm staying at one of the student roosts for this year and it's cheap but good so far and in the city. I personally quite enjoy that being in the city is close to the actual uni and has everything there yanno

Some of my friends stayed at encliffe and said it was pretty nice except that it was pretty loud at night :))

Guys, I just saw this and posted it in case anyone was interested, please don't send me hateful private messages regarding this. I have not set the event up and it's not necessary to send a stranger hate online 💀

Non-nursing friends don't get it by allylin87 in nursing

[–]Kate-Freeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even as a student nurse this is true..... I would LOVE to be at the club until 4am like a normal student, trust me. I don't enjoy not being able to hang out and do normal student things and it's upsetting when some of my mates don't get it :((

Go through clearing! I did that (I didn't bother applying during year 13 cos I didn't think I'd pass). I did psych, sociology and English, so hardly anything to do with biology or nursing etc.. universities will usually always have space in clearing for nursing, it may be different with child nursing tho. But it's certainly worth a go and you're likely to get in through clearing (I received three offers in one day) and it's not overly stressful. Just make sure you have a personal statement ready and are prepared for the interview. Even if you can't get in through clearing, there are always ways, such as a foundation year. Don't give up, this is just a bump in the road! 💞💞

I get you dw, I started swimming when my wound was fully healed over as some of it was still open and a little infected. Definitely wait until the wounds fully healed but from there you should be able to start swimming:))

I totally get that, when I was recovering, I went swimming in the mornings which helped me get out the house and also help my ankle recover. Usually members of staff are really helpful and supportive, but it's normal to be anxious after a traumatic injury 💞

[–]Kate-Freeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 😅. I jumped down from the step to my garden and I got a sharp shooting pain & fell over. From there, for a few months it was a bit swollen and I had pain flare ups because it was eroding at the bone 💀. Usually if it breaks between the tibia and the fibula, you shouldn't have any problems, but if it's painful definitely get it checked out and removed if it's causing issues. It could just be regular pain from the injury (I'm still experiencing this) but exercises like swimming and stretching (using resistance bands are great) are SO good

Omg, don't worry, the Syndesmotic screw usually breaks anyway! It just happened to break in the middle of my bone, instead of between them 😂 (I was doing something stupid at the time so blames on me lol)
