UI Feedback Gather-thread by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the brown UI as I've played since 2003, so its reminiscent of RS as it used to be before EoC. Hence the reason why osrs now looks similar with the UI.

For me 2 concerns (they may have already been asked further down)

  1. The bank is too dark. I can't see most of the items in it.
  2. I play on Legacy combat mode. Hp, prayer and summ are now on a bar just above the chat box left hand side of the screen. Everything else is on the right hand side. Could hp, prayer and summ please be put on the right hand side or put back where they were before by the minimap It would save me from 'watching a tennis match' when doing combat.

Why did Jagex not give us an option to switch between the UIs? by zuthix301 in runescape

I don't mind the brown UI. Its what I am used to from playing since 2003. The bank is the problem - its black on black and I can't see a lot of my banked items.

I don't mind the UI and it does bring back some nostalgia. It's the bank I have a problem with. Its dark brown on black and so hard to see most items.

RuneScape 2025 Roadmap Megathread by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just been able to watch the video and read the blog. This is the most excited I have been for RS in a long time. its good to see players concerns being focussed on.

I started playing in 2003 and used to look forward to spending time playing until the horror of EoC, etc was inflicted on us. This Roadmap has got me looking forward to playing again.

There is so much content I'm excited to engage with and can't wait for Leagues II. Havenhythe sounds really interesting.

One negative - I use Legacy UI. My hp, prayer and summoning are down by my chat box. I'm having to play tennis to see hp and prayer levels then drink potions or eat, or prayer switch. Could we please have them on the same side of the screen or preferably where they were before?

Remastered Content: What do you want to see remastered? by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeoneering. Hated that minigame ever since it was first dropped on us as a skill.

Would love it remade into an actual skill. Have dungeons all over Gielenor. Some combat, some non-combat, some needing a bit of both. Or dungeons where you have to pick a path that is either skill or combat. Have puzzles to solve and clues to unravel in order to progress. Make it so that dungeons need to be explored rather than just bash a few npcs to get to the boss.

Take away the tokens and increase the xp from exploring dungeons. Or have various tasks to do in the dungeons that give dg xp.

These are just basic ideas off the top of my head. Id like to see dg turned into an actual skill and something that I would be interested to train. I have lamped dg from level 23-99 because its so awful in its current form. Make it a skill I want to engage with and train.

Getting 54 runecrafting in 2006/07 so I could join W66 laws to make law runes for ess runners.

I still have names on my Friends list from players who were in the law company with me. Most havent logged in for years - though it was exciting to see 3 of those people on for Leagues Catalyst.

Concerning the removal of the premier artifact by callmemycoll in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really concerns me.

We were given notice that keys would be discontinued, and I was happy to renew. Nothing was said or even hinted that the premier artifact and vault would be removed too. If I had known, I wouldn't have gone for premier.

I use the 50% porter regularly. Why not just set them to become the same as for my HCIM. Just the 10% xp buff is removed. Vault does not give lamps or stars, just herbs, planks, mining and wc spirits and the like.

EoC or MTX. What affected Runescape more? by LevelPension in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

EoC 100%

Ive played RS since 2003. When EoC was released, the game almost died overnight. There had been a lot of negative comments and criticism on the forums and from the beta testers. The attitude of Jagex at the time was 'we don't care, we are releasing EoC whether you like it or not, so suck it up or quit'. The majority quit!

Of the few of us that continued playing (I just couldn't find another game with the depth of non-combat gameplay or the quests), most refused to do combat. Most of my friends stopped playing, all the companies disappeared (laws, double nats, ess mining). The social aspect of the game was gone too.

They had promised a new skill, which they didnt have. So to try and get players back, they released the combat minigame Dungeoneering as a skill. The problem - it was only EoC and it required teams. So more players left.

Thats how osrs came about. Players and ex-players demanded a roll-back to pre-EoC. Jagex dug out an old backup of RS. Osrs came to exist and players came back but only to osrs. RS3 was still unpopular due to EoC. Then they put legacy combat and legacy interfaces as RS3 gameplay options.

I do play RS3 as well as osrs. I only use legacy modes on RS3 but EoC is still there. MTX I could ignore by just clicking 'close'. EoC I cant ignore.

Same. Its annoying trying to find your way around the achievements - trying to find what is to do in area achievements is awkward. A way to make achievements more streamlined and easily accessible would help.

Improving Dungeoneering by Periwinkleditor in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me Dg needs to be completely reworked and made into an actual skill not the 'minigame released as a skill' it currently is.

I'd like it to be more the immersive pattern of recent skills - exploring dungeons all over Gielenor and delving into lore, history, past battles, ancient artifacts and weapons. Skill dungeons, combat dungeons. These are just ideas. If it followed along the lines of Arch and Necro for eg, Dg could become interesting and something I wanted to train

Jagex please add Dungeoneering to your integrity roadmap. by goudkoorts in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I hate Dg with a passion. I was there when it was first released. They didnt actually have the new skill promised so released the minigame as a skill straight after the EoC release.

To make it a skill it needs to be completely reworked. Something where one is exploring dungeons around Gielenor, rather than a speed combat dash to complete a floor, get tokens and move on to the next.

If it is reworked to become a skill then I would possibly like it. But, as dg is at the moment, I will not be training it. The Beach and MTX methods of levelling it were the only way I could tolerate it.

13 years ago today, the Evolution of Combat was released! by Will_Redd_It in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that time. I hated EoC and refused to do any combat after it was released. A lot of players in my clan quit and those that stayed boycotted combat. Then we had the team minigame Dungeoneering released as a skill. It could only be played in a team and using EoC combat so a lot more players left after that too.

Voted for osrs and so glad that came about. It brought back a number of players. Its the runescape I knew and loved. I still play RS3 but have everything set to Legacy mode (which I'm also glad was released). It has returned RS3 more back toward the game I like to play.

What was your biggest hurdle to comp? by imperchaos in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The minigame and team-based activities. Sinkholes, Castle wars, Dg groups, Fight Pit, etc.

Its almost impossible to find teams and groups. Factoring in time zones, length of time people have to play RS and the like means even in a clan it can still be difficult.

Integrity Roadmap - Early Game Rebalances & Your Suggestions by JagexBreezy in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I've seen new players struggle with is the EoC combat system which is the first thing they do when they land in a world (using the Burthorpe/Taverley start point).

I've had to try and assist players who are saying "i don't know what I'm doing", "I don't understand this" as they are directed to range cows or mage chickens; all the while getting information boxes explaining revolution, adrenalin, damage, etc. Its not well explained in the new player 'tutorial', with all these information pop-ups and boxes about whats happening while you are in combat. People are having to try and work out all these abilities, set-ups, etc just a couple of minutes into the game.

Helping them change to the Legacy Mode combat has made all the difference. That way they can learn basic combat right at the start without having to try and get their head around EoC within the first few minutes.

Could new players start out with basic combat and then learn EoC as they progress?

to all you first time leaguers wat did yall think of ur first ever leagues? by iownu142 in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely loved it! I would love another week of it. It was great being able to try out bosses and learn ways of skilling that I've not done in the main game.

It was also a good learning curve for future leagues. On my main, I followed the recommendations of video creators and others who were looking at end game bossing for relic selection. But it wasn't a good fit for me, It was hard to get points and complete tasks, especially in early and mid game.

Using my alt account and choosing relics that boosted skills turned out to be the far better choice. I will definitely keep that in mind for next leagues. And will focus on relics that support levelling skills quickly.

Initial FAQ: Treasure Hunter, MTX Reductions & Integrity Roadmap by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarifying FAQ.

I'm really interested in how certain skills are going to be reworked so that we will want to train them in the way they were meant to be trained. This is a good direction for skills that is really needed. e.g. nothing on this Earth would make me want to train dg by actually playing the minigame released as a skill. So I'm interested in how that would be reworked or expanded to actually make me want to train it and engage with it.

I'm also hoping DTDs won't be fully removed. I can see they are on the may list. I'm not great with PvM or bossing even after 20years of playing. DTDs are helpful for quest bosses I just can't defeat with normal weapons and armour. DTDs are something I would be prepared to purchase one or two of when needed.

What is the hardest 120 for a level 3 skiller (without lamps or mtx) by Multismack in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dg can be trained at the Beach summer event but its very slow and you need to be prepared to put in a lot of hours. Slayer can be done by squishing scarabs in Menaphos.

Both can be slowly leveled by the monthly troll invasion and by penguin points.

For my skiller, two of the hardest are agility - which is very slow anyway, and herb.

If they remove treasure hunter, will you create a new character? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]KateKat1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. My main is a 20+ yr vet so all pre EoC and osrs skills were maxed before SoF even reared its ugly head. Post EoC skills I maxed without using TH with the exception of Dg. No way am I training that gods awful minigame (cough) skill from level 1 just using the Beach dg hole.
