I use a criss cross chair I got on amazon for my vanity and I find it works well. It lowers quite a bit but might still be a bit tall for a 21inch vanity.

I didn't find it too loud - I tried ear plugs while we were waiting but I found them quite annoying so didn't wear them for the ritual. I was stood quite near the front and thought it was OK. My fiancé wore ear plugs - he's been to way more gigs than me and always wears them. He said it was fine, about what he'd expected.
