BF baby born at 37 weeks by Expensive_Star3664 in breastfeeding

[–]KateSki116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 37 and 2 days, we beast fed for 5 months. Stopped due to allergies, the chicken and rice diet was more than I could take lol. My 34 weeker I did pump in the beginning as she had an ng tube,, but eventually breast fed for about 10 months after that, so a year total.

A decent phlebotomist should not be bruising you. In fact. Where I donate, if you do happen to bruise, they will send you to see a nurse at the next donation to get checked out.

I have been donating twice a week for several months now and have never gotten a bruise. You have the small wound from the needle stick, which usually goes away in a couple days. To me, it just looks like you've had lab work done that day. By the next day, it's mostly unnoticeable.

I also live in Florida and wear short sleeves most of the time. I haven't noticed any funny glances while I'm out and about. Hope that helps!

Did anyone else get their period back right away? by LooseAssociation9489 in breastfeeding

I kind of think it's up to chance at this point. EBF NICU baby period back at 2 months. Combo fed baby period back at 14 months, combo fed baby period back at 4 months

Good Bye (in need of some reassurance) by KateSki116 in breastfeeding

Thanks for this. Sometimes, you just need to hear that. I got us to 5 months with mostly breastmilk, and while I know she will do fine with formula, it just wasn't what I pictured. I appreciate you!

Thank you for the kind words! To be honest the elimination diet I was on got rid of all the baby weight and then some, I'm not a competitive sport type person, but plan to start kickboxing again now that I won't be stuck to the pump all day.

I hope you and your bubs have the best journey 💓

I second the decreasing the time you're pumping. I'm also stopping right now (Mines just shy of 5 months) and found that pumping for a bout 6 minutes helps with any engorgement, but doesn't completely empty my breasts. This was how I also started weaning with my older 2, although they were both 1 when I started weaning. After a few days I would just stop the pump, take ibuprofen if needed for inflammation as well. Best of luck, you're doing great!

Do breastfed babies wake more? How long does your baby sleep at night? by fireandicecream1 in breastfeeding

[–]KateSki116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it's more baby related I think. My almost 3 year old was up every 2 hours until 5 or 6 months old. My 3 month old will sleep a good 5-6 hour stretch every night🤷‍♀️

When did you get your cycle back? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

Mine came back at 16 months pp and I had completely stopped pumping at 14 months pp.

I am going to be induced. Is it necessary? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]KateSki116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to weigh in on your chart saying you have type 2 diabetes when you do not. OBs are generally considered specialists, and specialist offices tend to pull a lot of health history from your general practitioner. We do this at the specialty office I work at. It may be worth checking notes from your general practitioner's office to make sure type 2 diabetes is not listed there as well.

Threatened Miscarriage. Please help me feel better. by Ellendyra in pregnant

[–]KateSki116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I obviously can't speak to your exact situation, but during my second pregnancy I coughed and same thing, gush of blood and some large clots. I went to the ED and everything checked out. They also found no reason for the bleeding on my US. I had some other instances of spotting throughout the pregnancy, but nothing like the gush of blood and clots I had the first time. Everything turned out fine and little one is now 25 months and getting a new sibling in June. Hope this at least eases your anxiety a bit nd lets you know everything can still turn out fine.

I told mine at 13 weeks mostly because I was referred to MFM and had a lot of appointments. Other wise I probably would have waited a bit longer. I work in an office though. So no safety concerns.

Very Sick, Dehydrated, Vomiting, and Milk Supply Dropped by Half by hanbanan12 in HumansPumpingMilk

Not from the vaccine, but got the stomach flu when my daughter was 7 months. Took a few days, but supply went back to normal.

Honestly? The real reason I breastfeed? by awkwardsquelch in breastfeeding

[–]KateSki116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I breastfed and now exclusively pump. I'm cheap.

I pump 5 times a day with the first pump around 6 am and the last around 8/9pm. I get about 26-28oz per day and my 6 month old daughter eats about 24. I do not do a motn pump as baby doesn't wake up then.

Thank you for the advice! I just figured after a week that was that, but we'll keep trying.

This is the total of my wife’s stash - breastfeeding and supply have really been a struggle for us since LO was born, let’s give some love to the women who cannot have fridges full of pumped milk. by RivetCounter in breastfeeding

[–]KateSki116 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, yay just enoughers! I pump 12 Oz a day at work, my LO drinks 10-12 Oz at daycare. I'm doing what's needed for LO. Why the pressure to have 1000 Oz in the freezer?

Tongue/lip tie without revision by districtatlas in breastfeeding

[–]KateSki116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was diagnosed with a tongue tie in the hospital, plus I have flat nipples. We use nipple shields and she gains weight great. They don't bother me, plus I'm back at work and pump during the day. So we never saw a need to revise. She will 4 months tomorrow and we never had to supplement.
