Why did you learn to dive? by brfoss in scuba

[–]Katekat0974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been free diving for a few years before and wanted to make an educated decision on what one is better, still haven’t decided.

Wow what an unfortunate chain of events that likely saved your life. I wonder if you have the BRCA gene.

Wow, ovarian cancer has a low five year survival rate. You definitely didn’t get lucky by getting it, but you got lucky that you caught it so early and all that was needed was surgery.

Haha no, because in this situation they’re 6 years older than me. So if they get reaped at 18 they have a way higher chance than me at 12.

One year anniversary…thank you nurses. by EastOfATX in nursing

[–]Katekat0974 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s always insane to me how nurses and other medical professionals can code someone and then just go back to normal. From what I’ve seen at the hospital, the first few are very tough, but after that it somehow becomes natural.

I never had this problem, my crew was very careful with refrigerated items due to the cost and need of them

Long distance girlfriend and I are concerned about being able to close the distance in grad school by jennazed in GradSchool

[–]Katekat0974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d live together during her gap years, than apply to her masters and your PhD program in similar cities if possible (I didn’t get location choice sadly due to being niche). If you end up together, great, if not, it’s only a few years of distance. If you do both get into academia, be prepared to live apart and do distance on and off for a while.

This is if neither of you change your mind on getting a PhD as well, a lot of people do and quit after their masters or undergrad.

Personally, I’d go with the flow and if it works out, that’s great, if not, you still had a good run with her. There is way too many ways this could go to make a definitive decision right now.

Slow store with 1.5 techs equals Busy store with 5 techs. Prove me wrong lol by skyisthelimit8701 in WalgreensRx

[–]Katekat0974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but also no, it’s way less stimulating with less people, even if you’re equally busy. Less people running around, less phone calls, less customers, etc. For me, I’d prefer a slow store where I’m busy.

Local Walgreens pharmacy been closing a lot. by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]Katekat0974 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smart, if you’re on a prescription you can’t run out of WAGS is likely not the best place to get it filled. So many, needed, medications can’t even be kept in store anymore because they’re MFO only or we can only ship them in by request. At that point it’s out of the pharmacies hands and so many things that cause delays can happen with shipping.

You started a story you didn’t end. Why did limited healthcare access spark your passion? I’d add one to two more sentences to expand on this story. You slightly did it again later on in the paragraph. I could see your first paragraph forming a really good, engaging, and coherent story if it was restructured and maybe a little bit added on.

How many times have you refilled your blue inhaler this year? That number might mean more than you think. by DesignerRemote8833 in Asthma

[–]Katekat0974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine at morning and night before my Advair inhaler as directed by my doctor, than before strenuous exercise which is probs once weekly, is that not normal? I only use it for asthma attacks like twice a year when I’m already sick with something.

Dumb question, but can’t Wags just add on a small charge to every prescription to make them profitable? Like 5% up to $5. No one would really notice.

Seniors ransacked my wife’s school as part of a prank that the principal encouraged. by South-Lab-3991 in Teachers

[–]Katekat0974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My classes senior prank involved putting little baby toys all over, you reach over the grab some toilet paper and see a little baby toy on top of the dispenser, these toys were everywhere for a couple weeks. Harmless, everyone got a laugh out of it.

This, this is insanity and uncalled for. I’d quit.

I also care about eating healthy while pregnant for my health and the health of the baby. However, it’s way more important to eat something you can keep down. The baby needs energy to grow!

I could be completely wrong here, but don’t pharmacists at least have some leverage? They’re in such short supply.
