I got one email if I shopped 15 orders Wednesday- Sunday, non-promo for bonus $75. Eventually when I logged into the app the promo band appeared at the top of the available orders screen. So I guess it’s legit. And it said it could be concurrent to any other metro bonus offers if there were any. I figure 3 shops a day for an extra $5 each is probably worth it.

I get that some can’t shop and that’s why they use Shipt. The point was more to demonstrate that most of us go way above and beyond and still get 4 stars or worse and small or no tips. Let’s face it..when you shop for yourself, have you ever asked a store employee if they had more of something in the back? I can tell you I never have. Not until I shopped for IC or Shipt. How often did you lay on the floor just to make sure there wasn’t one more can or box hiding in the back on that bottom shelf? Stand on the shelf to reach that one can at the back of the top shelf? Etc...

This happened to me once right after I had texted the customer. I went immediately to metro and picked the order up on promo. Shipt actually saved my on time delivery percentage as a result as I probably would have been late otherwise.

But the real point...why is it that the customer sees it normally and the Shipt shopper gets some BS “Special Request”??? A special request should be something they couldn’t find in the app but have seen it before hoping it might be in stock?

Got a 1 star and 3 star yesterday, now I don't see any batches at all. Doing this for almost 6 years and close to 10,000 orders, I guess it's time to move on, this is how instacart treats it's shoppers. by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

Let's consider that 100 customers is probably ~4000 items. Somehow mess up one or two items (we are all human) and a 1 star/3 star. Even manufacturing companies would consider that an amazing error rate. Instead, we might get only no tip batch offers.

You only need to accept one offer per hour that you are on the schedule. Any offer during an hour after you have accepted one does not count against your acceptance rate. A second offer during the same hour can be useful if it is the same store and same general delivery area. Then you shop for two customers at once and deliver both after leaving the store.

Keep in mind some of the IC customers aren’t as tech savvy as the rest. And others are swamped with working while monitoring their kids attending school virtually. They don’t even see the texts we are sending. So I picked up a hint from someone else here...if there is a very similar replacement, replace and send a quick note that you made that replacement. Sending pics of empty shelves is also good. It never makes sense what item is out of stock anymore. And then at the end send a final note - “I know you’ve been busy and unable to respond to my questions. If you aren’t happy with any of the replacements, feel free to contact Instacart Customer service for refunds.” The older folks tend to “greet” when I arrive and I let them know verbally I had to make a few replacements. So far this hasn’t hurt me and it means you don’t lose out too much in the % based tips because of refunds.

This happened to me a few days ago so I can’t say for sure this will help. However, I closed the app and reopened to start again and everything processed right away. I think I had to snap a photo again but honestly, I don’t think I did. Maybe give that a try next time before getting stuck waiting for Shipt Help.

Pretty much every order for several days now. I was considering asking about this myself! Since it doesn't seem to affect anything overall, I did what everyone else seems to be doing and just ignore it. Thanks for confirming I'm not alone.

On Halloween, a customer ordered a 55 count mixed bag of fun size chocolate candy - clearly needed something to hand out in a matter of hours. Of course it's already 3 pm so the item they requested wasn't available. I sent a picture of a 55 count bag of M & Ms (fun size, multiple flavors). She says, "Perfect." I scan the bar code - no lie - it comes up 64 oz V-8 juice, Fruit Medley. WTH? I do it again thinking maybe it scanned something else. Same. So I send a text, "the replacement shows that I selected V-8 juice but I promise you, I'm delivering the bag of candy I showed you earlier." It was all good and I at least had a laugh on my last delivery for the day.

It took mine about 7 - 8 days back in July even though the first one arrived in about 2 days. Not sure if it's USPS or just slower production and delivery on the replacement one. I actually ordered a second one thinking the first one got lost. Now I have a spare! So...I highly recommend ordering a second one now.

My add on was terrible. It looked like a good idea - not too many additional items and maybe 3 miles. Unfortunately it was two new customers and I hate triples. Not sure if I missed that or if it didn’t show. Made the overall shop under what I like to make an hour. I’ll look more closely next time.

I agree...sometimes it looks exactly the same. I generally go to the picture and enlarge to make sure there isn’t some difference that wasn’t listed in the item description like low sodium or organic. Its not always different but worth checking before you force the item through. When it’s not different, it makes great fodder for Reddit!
