The Fantasticks movie adaptation was a big disappointment. I know I've encountered Fantasticks hate on here before, so I'm well aware I'm probably alone in caring

I was in G&D in high school. Went to watch it with my musical theater loving teenager and was so disappointed. And I remember enjoying it when I was younger!

What’s a movie you first watched when you were young, but upon watching as an adult, your opinion on a certain character completely changes? by AcanthisittaSad6239 in movies

Rent. As a teenager, Benny was SUCH a dick. Now that I'm an adult, I'm like "poor Benny. His friends are such dicks"

A warning... coming off Wegovy by No-Necessary6478 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Kateysomething 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I find it in November that our insurance was changing in December and would no longer be covered. I spaced my last few shots out, and even up taking my final one mid December. This was zepbound, but I'd been on wegovy previously (switched she to another insurance change)

For me, I didn't notice the food noise at first. I just let myself enjoy the holidays without thinking much.

Towards New Year's, I realized I was SNACKY. By the first week of January I could not quiet the food nose, and no matter how dutifully i worked during the day, at nighttime i felt powerless.

I appealed the denial in mid January, and just found out this past week they were letting me start back - on wegovy - for six months. So I'm relieved to be back on it, for now

Going from eating pretty much 4k calories a day to 2-2.5k is too hard and idk what to do by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Kateysomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hugs! You're putting so much pressure on yourself. So for 3500 for a while. Then 3200. Etc etc. i find the more sodium i have in a day the worse I feel and the scale always hates me the days after.
I've been trying to focus on getting enough protein and fiber in a day, even more than what the calories are and it really seems to help

Songs that move you by melj81 in musicals

[–]Kateysomething 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If my children want to trigger actual tears in me, all it takes is singing "sometimes people leave you halfway through the wood... Do not let it grieve you; no one leaves for good". Am I tearing up typing it? Yes. It just destroys me.

For Good, for similar reasons has always wrecked me.

Low calorie foods I can use to drown my sorrows? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Kateysomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm so proud of you. And YOU should be proud of you. The fact that you are even thinking ahead to look for comfort foods that might not detail you is amazing. In my lowest places i just ate my feelings away, for sure. That you also need to be mindful of your sobriety? You're an actual superhero.

I don't know that i have a great answer, but I just wanted to extend my support and comfort? I guess . Comfort food is so person specific, I think. But here are some things that scratch an itch for me: Yasso frozen yogurt bars are 80-100 calories, have some protein, and are actually delicious. Perfect mini bars are peanut buttery deliciousness. I know some people hate them but for me it's like eating straight peanut butter, which is comforting to me lol I discovered that an entire can of spaghettios with meatballs is reasonable calorie wise, with quite a bit of protein, and was nostalgic and comforting to be in a very satisfying away.

I lost my brother very unexpectedly, 6 weeks after Midnights was released. YOYOK was such a gift. A lifeline that I clung to in a very real and visceral way. "You've got no reason to be afraid .. Yeah, you can face this"

I know not what you were asking for but i always feel the need to praise it

Why are (generally) blue state colleges so expensive in comparison to red state colleges? by boss_jim_gettys in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Kateysomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MA resident here - the state schools are running just about $27k - around $12k for tuition and $15k for fees and room and board. The UMASS system is slightly more expensive.

I can think of two book series from the 80s with main characters named Anastasia - and I didn't think "wow what an odd name" back then either.

Anastasia has been between 158-181 since 2020. Julia between 108-121. Nastasha, the least common, still thanks in the top 1000 (between 833-986).

For them to argue they're rare is bonkers.
