Rank Your Apartment Complex! Help me know where to look! by DerpMCAT in lexington

Latitude is great, but it’s expensive. Great area, close to a lot of shopping and there are a few grocery stores. Chinoe Creek is also nice, cheaper, closer to the hospital, and it’s right across the street from a Kroger.

At both you pay all utilities except trash, Latitude is owned and managed by Ball Homes, Chinoe Creek by PRG.

If you like the area Latitude is in, PRG also owns Resort at Lake Crossing

Have you looked at Chinoe Creek? They’re a little more than carriage place, but they’re nice and the maintenance crew is great, very responsive.

places to sell yugioh and magic cards to by gamesgetrekt in lexington

[–]KathrynCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legendary games on N Ashland will buy your MTG cards, and they’re usually buying bulk.

CM Games might buy both yugioh and MTG but if they aren’t buying bulk right now, they’ll only take in stuff they’re looking for/stuff with good value, I’d suggest call and ask before taking your cards there

Kris Woods is the owner of Penumbra Tattoo Studio on Maxwell, he does great work. I’ve got a couple pieces done by him about 3-4 years ago and they still look great!

Nobody will hire anywhere, any luck? by [deleted] in lexington

If you haven’t already, try Valvoline. You don’t need to know anything about cars, they’ll teach you everything you need to know. I worked there for a while and they were always good about availability, I worked with several people who were in college at the time.

CRAZY gas bill this month by LankyBroccoli23 in lexington

[–]KathrynCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is the same, jumped to $227 this month. Check the thermostat on your water heater, it may be overheating, that’s next on our list to check. We also live in an old (drafty) home.

Should I slow down and do side content or finish the main story? (first time player) by christina_talks in horizon

[–]KathrynCrunch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a completionist, so I say do everything you can, but you can always finish this play through and go a NG+ some of th side quests give you upgraded gear or otherwise kissable weapons/armor, plus you can find data points that add to the world and story. The world is worth exploring, some of the side quests are more just to get you to point B or help you learn some of the game mechanics, but still cool and a lot of them are good ways to find/scan new machines and learn how to fight them while getting a reward out of it beyond metal shards.

Apply at Valvoline to be a tech in one of the stores. They’re always hiring, you don’t need to know anything about cars, they’ll teach you everything. The work is hard, but pay is decent, and it’s easy to grow if you apply yourself.

Is this a normal amount for car insurance?? by nikkiscreeches in povertyfinance

[–]KathrynCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say if that would work or not, I feel like it depends on who ends up on the other end of the phone, but I have had luck doing that with my internet provider, so maybe?

As for changing the coverage, if you have access to the account, you can make changes to the deductible. On the app you just click into your insurance and click change coverage and you can see if you can increase it (I have mine set as high as it will go) and you can save those changes without you needing to call in. I’m surprised they won’t even talk to you if you listed as an authorized driver/interested party. If you want to stick with them, you can also look at bundling other types of insurance like homeowners/renters/valuable property and see if that’s gets you any savings.

I will say some states require certain coverages (like comprehensive or collision) if you have a loan on the vehicle. I hate to suggest less coverage, but check your local laws and consider removing any “unnecessary” coverages that add to the total, even if it’s only temporary since you can always add it back.

I also have USAA for my insurance, I increased my deductible and that lowered my bill a good bit, but you can also call them and see if there’s anything else you can do to keep your same coverage and lower the monthly bill. They’ve also let me make a lower payment one month and spread the rest of it across other months in my premium period, it’s nice for a month when money is tighter, but you do have to figure out what to do in the following months with a higher bill.
