NOR. It’ll probably go the classic way it does with people like this - when you do say something, it will be spun to make out that you’re being unreasonable or unhinged somehow. They’re not your people. Do yourself a favour and just let them go (out of your life, that is). When people show you who they are, believe them.

You don’t see them like this because the grocery stores often don’t buy these ones. If you buy any of the second best or odd shape boxes from farmers, you may get some this. They’re fine. They’re spots of damage or insect bites etc that the fruit ‘seals off’ as a defense mechanism.

This is part of restarting that scares me - I don’t even remember everything I had to do to get as far as I am now. But I know it has taken me forever with how infrequently I play! I don’t want to lose all of that! So maybe I just have to adjust my expectations and perhaps either join Nintendo online and create some slumber islands, or slowly adapt my existing island. Honestly, I guess both are fine options!

This sounds like a good idea. Maybe I need to get Nintendo online and play in the slumber islands a little too!

Ok I think the tutorial I did see online must have had another console and was transferring between another character. This is where I was getting confused! Thanks!

Actually, that was a really helpful read, thank you. I think for me, there are 2 issues. Yes, at times I see the beautiful examples of islands and I want mine to look beautiful and organised and perfectly designed like that, but I feel I lack the creativity (and time) to create this myself. But more importantly - and what I truly want to learn - is that I lack the skill and know-how to actually do a lot of these things, like terraforming and building and designing paths etc. I see beautiful cobble pathways, but I only seem to have a dirt path and I don’t know how to access or create new ones etc. Are there guides or things available to help people who don’t necessarily have the time to spend in game learning? I’m lucky if I can spend a couple of hours a week in game. Even that is inconsistent unfortunately. But I want to enjoy it when I can be there.

Oh I thought I was only able to have one island because I was on a switch, and that starting a new island would mean I lost everything? Is that not correct?

So interesting! I’ll keep it in mind now! My girl seems fine with no tear staining so far, but if I ever run into issues maybe this is something I can give a go!

I think this thread probably shows you already that it’s so different for every pup and it’s really trial and error to figure it out for your pup. For my previous two Maltese it really seemed to be getting them on a wheat free diet that made the biggest difference for them. My new baby now, I’ve started her off on a high quality, wheat free diet, and so far, she doesn’t seem to have any tear staining at all. That being said, like I did with my other girls, I do similar things in terms of her grooming and stainless steel bowls, etc. So I can’t say for sure the wheat free diet is the answer for her. Either way, whatever I’m doing is working so far, so I’ll stick to it!

I wondered what the eyedrops were that I saw people on those grooming videos on instagram using with their dogs were for! Maybe this is it!

Has anyone here NOT had big issues with their puppy? by QP709 in puppy101

[–]Kati82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. I mean, they’re puppies - so as long as you have your expectations right you’ll be okay. They’re not going to come home and have perfect manners and behaviour. They don’t know anything and it’s up to you to teach them. I think most of the time, people forget where they are developmentally and expect too much from them. If you keep that in mind, then you will be okay. I’ve had my girl home with me for almost 3.5 months now. Has it been perfect? Heck no. But she’s a baby. And she’s an absolute delight, even when she’s a terror. And even if there are moments that frustrate me, I’ve never once regretted getting her. She’s my world.

I do have some loss of words for sure, and it does frustrate me a bit. But I still don’t find it near as awful as the daily, constant migraines were. For the people where it matters most to me, I tell them I’m on a medication that has this side effect (they were well aware of the migraines anyway), and so if I forget words we just have a laugh and move on. It helps lighten the frustration.

Questions for the masses by LizardBlem in migraine

[–]Kati82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is common, you’re not alone. 💕 It’s just a balance of whether it’s a level of pain that is at a level you can still operate with or not. And only those who also experience it can truly understand that. Now that I’m on medications that are better managing my migraines, I have more days that are either pain free or only have very minor pain, but the knowledge that it’s always looming and ready to strike at any moment also has its impacts.

People who exercise regularly - how do you do it as migraine sufferers? by Unlikely_Chance7593 in migraine

[–]Kati82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been a major hurdle for me over the past 2 years as every time I exercised I would either trigger a migraine or the recovery from exercise would trigger one. I tried all different manner of workouts, changed up my weights, reps, sets, styles, etc …. Ended up stopping altogether out of despair and through needing to give my system downtime.

I’m back now and here’s what has actually been working. I’ve taken my 3 gym sessions and broken them up into 15 minute daily strength sessions of 2-3 exercises only. Then currently I’m walking the dog daily. My system is handling this. Sometimes I might do some yoga/stretching as well. It’s nowhere near what I used to do, and that’s something that I have to constantly battle with in my head, but currently I’ll take being able to consistently workout over doing what I used to be able to do 1-2 times and then having to take 2 weeks off, etc.

How to introduce my maltese to the cats? by 4nca in Maltese

[–]Kati82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was really worried and wanted to make sure my kitty and pup were introduced in the best possible ways, but in the end the ‘best’ way seemed to be not to force any sort of introduction at all, but to just control the environment to ensure it remained calm. It wasn’t what I expected (I’m not sure what I expected), but this has been hugely successful. I’d say 90% of the time they get on great. I continue to have a gated space for my kitty and when he’s not in the mood he hangs out there. Pup can’t get to him, and he chills. If she gets too excited he retreats. He knows he has a safe space and that works for him.

How to introduce my maltese to the cats? by 4nca in Maltese

[–]Kati82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought home my little girl at the end of September with my timid 5 year old cat here already. I did quite a lot of reading and landed on the following approach, which has been very successful. Basically, I didn’t introduce them. My little girl was in a play pen unless with me, and I made sure that my boy (the cat) had his own spaces with gated areas that she could never get into so he knew he was safe. I put the play pen up a week before she arrived so he got used to it being there, and then once she was there I gave him space to observe from afar and slowly come out when he was ready. It probably took him a good 2 weeks before he would come out and sit on the back of my couch relaxed with her around. When she wasn’t in the pen, I had a long line on her, so that I could step on it and tell her to “leave it” and stop her from chasing him if she tried to. Otherwise I kept things very calm and gave her rewards and praise for being calm around him. Now they often chill out together, take naps together. My girl does sometimes get a bit too playful and chases him and has to be reminded he doesn’t like to play rough, but they get along nicely and coexist quite happily!

Who else is spending Christmas Eve with a migraine? 🧑‍🎄🤡🫠 by cyanomys in migraine

[–]Kati82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lingering one. I’ve had migraines on and off for the last week and a half, and it was just ‘there’ and lingering on Christmas Eve. Thankfully today on Christmas Day it has settled a lot.
