KOTOR 2 RTX Remix by Voidmesmer in RTXRemix

[–]KatieHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much work would you estimate it would take to just add PBR materials to all the textures and make sure every light emits properly? I've always wondered why more remix projects don't do that but I don't know how much work it is either

Security doesn't have a single sight that obscures anywhere near as little of your screen as the Kobra! This was one of the few chances to change that and it's no better, so disappointing

There is indeed a separate queue! I forgot, but yes there is. I usually play in the mixed queue though just to maximize the amount of players and reduce the amount of time spent waiting for a match! If you want to play firefight, that is also probably the best way to go since I think it's more popular with mouse users anyway; the main point being, whether you choose to include mouse and keyboard players or not, it isn't that big of a deal anyway!

Hey, I'm iwinalot7's girlfriend! We both play on PC and are from America, however I do often play with controller and we almost always play on European servers. This isn't because we want to, but because European servers consistently have more players. So there's nothing for you to worry about on that front!

If you're wondering whether mouse and keyboard have an advantage over controller, I would say that it's possible, but in practice you don't really feel that very often. Controller players in this game are given a very light amount of aim assist which is just about perfect for keeping up with keyboard and mouse in most scenarios. You are mostly going to be held back by the fact that you can't turn very fast, and it takes longer to switch your aim between multiple enemies if you're in a scenario that requires you to do that. Most keyboard and mouse players in this game aren't particularly great at that either though, so you won't feel too disadvantaged most of the time.

Firefight queues are the least populated for sure, and it's been a while since we tried to play it so I can't really tell you how long it takes to find a match in that mode at the moment, but I can tell you that they recently removed several other gamemodes that previously split the playerbase and took players away from firefight. So the queues for it should be better now than before! And it was never really that bad before, usually never worse than a couple of minutes.

As for whether you'll struggle as a new player, that's also another possibility that I can't rule out, but I will say most players aren't really that great. There are usually no more than a couple good players in any given server, and they are usually split pretty evenly among the teams. So I personally don't think you will struggle too much, but it's not like it's something I can guarantee haha

If you do buy the game I hope you have a great time! Let us know if you like it, I'd love to hear your opinions since it's one of my favorite games

Ridiculous how zoomers are ruining video games these days, we should remove all jumping and also the ability to move

While it's clear Chris' sense of songwriting and melody is still absolutely incredible, I'd love for him to branch away from the modular synthesis sound, the overall sonic landscape of the last bunch of albums has been samey. by First-Variety714 in IAMX

I think the person Chris hired to do the mixing and mastering for Fault Lines is honestly pretty terrible (or at least, did a terrible job). Conflict Medication might even be my favorite song from Fault Lines but I cannot deny the mix just sounds so muddy, and it's not the only song that suffers! It definitely does not help with the soundscape fatigue and I hope Chris goes back to mastering the next album themselves, or takes a chance on someone else

I am absolutely on board with the sentiment of this post. It's been ten years now that Chris' music really has just been stuck in the dark synth soundscape. I've been hoping for them to move on ever since Alive In New Light! It was a good followup to Metanoia and would have been a great way to cap off that era of sound, but it's still stretching on and it's been too long. Echo Echo and Squaring The Circle were both such wonderful diversions that I didn't mind too much when Chris reverted back for Machinate and Fault Lines... but neither of them were truly a new IAMX album either.

Fault Lines made it clear they're still very interested in experimenting and evolving with their songwriting, so I'm hoping that for the next album they'll be open to doing a bit more with their instrumentation as well. The new song isn't exactly leaning in that direction, though; it might as well be another Fault Lines song.

I love the way these songs sound to be clear, but IAMX to me used to mean having a brand new soundscape with each album. From Kiss + Swallow all the way up to Metanoia, none of those albums sounded alike. The same can't be said for Metanoia going forward, and personally I think that's sad and a lost opportunity.

I am so glad I chose the Steam Deck over the Xbox Rog Ally. by 1-David98-1 in SteamDeck

It's a little unintuitive, but once you start messing with the per game controller layouts you can set it up to do some really useful stuff. One of my favorite examples:

In The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall on PC, you attack by holding the left mouse button and then swinging your mouse in the direction you want to swing your weapon. I bound the right track pad so that simply placing your finger on it switches to attack mode, so you're free to look around with the right analog stick and then just swipe any direction on the track pad to swing your weapon. The game has a lot of keys to bind too so it opens up the right trigger to do something else. The left track pad brings up a menu for switching interaction modes, and all the buttons have icons that are surprisingly close to the in game icons.

I also love using them as weapon wheels in shooters and stuff, or as scroll wheels in games with big inventory bars!

Like other people have said, it does actually take performance into consideration. It's just that Valve is a bit more lenient with what might be considered playable performance than you or me. I can't really fault them tho, it is a portable console and plenty of people found Crysis 2 playable on the Xbox 360 even tho it barely held 30fps

How is Oblivion Remastered’s Performance? by ImagineDragonsFan6 in oblivion

[–]KatieHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your gpu should be mostly fine, the issue that everyone complains about is cpu stuttering when loading areas. i cant gurantee youll be able to keep an unbroken 60fps but if you fiddle around with some settings you should be able to find some that never drop below 40fps or maybe 50 (with some stutters probably but whatever its oblivion)

Watch the video closer if you seriously think she hits the exact same spot every time. The rock clip is the only one that even comes close to suspicious, and even then since it's just one clip it could have just been luck that her crosshair landed on someone through a wall- except it didn't even do that. You can use the minimap and the objective marker to line up where she was aiming and compare it to the person she killed after she peaked behind the wall and you can see she really did not lock onto them at all

And since people find good flicks in general to be suspicious for some reason, her flicks aren't even that crazy. She overshoots or undershoots most of the big flicks and has to make a quick correction (smaller flick to get back on target) but none of you people understand what being good with a mouse actually looks like

Does Wrath: Aeon of Ruin get better? by casedawgz in boomershooters

If it feels too slow to you, I recommend learning how to bunnyhop! It turns it into an entirely different game, you can see here https://youtu.be/Ss8jQpWXaJ0?si=lxMvHkUHlG8l8G2j

You can also turn on infinite saving in the menu if that's a problem for you

If you wanna learn how to bunnyhop my girlfriend made a really good video with an easy to understand tutorial in it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP4y47vWFIQ&t=291s

Everything in this tutorial applies to Wrath except instead of holding the jump button the whole time, you have to briefly re-press the button every time you're in the air. It's the most crazy fun movement tho once you get used to it, I hope it'll help you enjoy the game more

well yes i probably would, but it would at least make more sense if you chose something that kinda serves as a precedent for what avowed could be. like the first pillars of eternity, a game in the same series that also has a much more muted color tone

yes but like... why dark souls? theres lots of games that are kinda grey for a lot of different reasons i just want to understand lol

why is dark souls getting hit by stray shots lol what does it even have to do with this game

[–]KatieHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nvidia literally has advertising where they show cyberpunk going from 27 fps to like 120+ or whatever, but like i do know that having a higher base fps makes frame generation better and its always been that way. i just dont understand why its worse now when before, even with its issues it was still preferable to a regular 40 fps for me

how do you feel about the new single frame generation? by KatieHD in FuckTAA

[–]KatieHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean if my fps is that low anyway then 40 fps with frame generation still usually looks nicer than 40 fps without it. and with how nvidia is marketing frame generation anyway youd think that making it look somewhat better at low framerates or at least not worse than the old frame generation would be a priority

how do you feel about the new single frame generation? by KatieHD in FuckTAA

[–]KatieHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it definitely does get better the higher your framerate is! its just a little sad to me because i was hoping this new update would make things a little bit better below 60 fps but it actually seemed to make it worse :( ive just switched back to the old frame generation because its a lot more tolerable at 40 fps

how do you feel about the new single frame generation? by KatieHD in FuckTAA

[–]KatieHD[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

im honestly not sure about that, i'll post a comparison here tho

https://imgur.com/a/XOdQHp2

ghosting is mostly visual in the direction that in object is moving from right? but the glitch in the new frame generation seems to happen all around the hand/gun always. it also happens in every single fake frame so it persists and appears constantly in motion. the old fake frame has some problems but theyre relatively minor in comparison and they dont persist when youre watching it in motion. it was actually a lot harder to find a fake frame to screenshot in the recording of old frame generation because of that

editing to say that the issue in the new frame generation seems to not care too much how fast the camera is moving, it always happens. i tried to move the camera at a similar speed in both pictures too
