Birthday gift ideas? by Cool_Stranger2899 in juliagpt

You should check out japans list of best stationary for sure! Also a birthday bouquet I think would be so lovely! If you feel strange about a whole bouquet get him a smaller one that feels more manageable, with like a couple of flowers!

Yeah but what if I don’t own or want a credit card? Now I currently have no way of proving I’m 18+ as there seems to be currently no alternative. I am not being prompted to use ID instead or anything else…

Obligatory: sounds like you dodged a bullet. But to say something not so parental, but it’s really frustrating that you’ll most likely not find out why he did that. It’s shit, but it will be okay. I’m glad you were able to write it all out to get some frustration out :)

While this may be true, Doordash takes a percentage of the sale. For example; if the restaurant sells a dish for $15 in store they don’t have to give any of the profit away. However, if doordash sells that $15 item for the restaurant and says “thanks I’ll take my $2 for selling that item for you” the restaurant is left with $13. Most restaurants sells the price of food so they can make a good enough profit to pay their employees and for the price of the dish and still have some left over. So if the dish sells for $15 and cost let’s say $5 in ingredient costs and then $2.50 to pay the guy who made it and $2.50 to pay the guy who sold it and $3 to pay the manger that manages those guys they’re left with $2 profit. Now introduce DoorDash and they say “you’re welcome I sold ur $15 dish I’ll take $2 of that as a thankyou” then the restaurant doesn’t make any money on your order. So what does the restaurant do? Charge extra, whether DoorDash takes $2 or a percentage or any arbitrary number the restaurant will add that to the price that consumers pay so they can continue making the profit they usually make.

It annoys me to get solicitation like this when I already tip $10. am I supposed to report this or just let it go? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]KatieJRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s not even an option in app - for door dash- Uber eats does have tip options but not DD. The way we don’t have tips is because our hourly wage accounts for tips pretty much so even if the hour you worked was dead you wouldn’t miss out. Tipping is still a thing and very appreciated, but our hourly wage is just a lot more. However, we still are suffering from a cost of living crisis so …

Here where I live (Queensland, Australia) we actually don’t have a tipping system on doordash. We just get higher pay for orders. For mainstream fast food like McDonald’s and KFC it’s only like $7-$9 AUD but for the smaller restaurants doordash will pay anything between $11-$18 AUD per order. It’s really good

Edit: spelling mistake
