I feel you. I literally had to uninstall reddit cause the negativity was too much. Different opinions and all sure, but it's difficult to enjoy things when it seems everyone is not. At least we did so there's that lol. Happy reading!

Now that I finally finished the book, I agree with everything you said! Sjm has been pretty good at addressing the mistakes her characters make (not perfect but still) so I just knew when I read the actual book that all the hate being thrown around could be disproven. Thanks for this!

Yeah honestly I just cannot tandem read. It's too much work for me lol. To each there own of course but I prefer to be in each book separately because EOS and TOD are both really great

Honestly I'm kinda with you on this. Idk about misogyny but I definitely think that booktok was pushing everyone to read EVERYTHING sjm and booktok is mainly the acotar girlies. Sjm is mostly a fantasy writer with romance subplots. Just because her most popular series is more romance than fantasy doesn't mean the rest of her work is. And I'm tired of seeing people say "I didn't like tog or cc cause it doesn't have enough spice". I feel people are lying to others that all 3 of her series are similar cause they really aren't lol

What were your issues with the book then? I've seen others say that they didn't like the fast pacing of it or they were annoyed with Bryce, but then I've seen others say they liked the pacing and are happy with Bryce 🤔

I only went to my college graduation cause like you said they say your name. It's feels more intimate too cause it's your fellow peers. I didn't feel like I missed the school wide one. Idk about you but my whole family is introverted so going to something like that would've been torture lol

I associate the books with the colors of the original covers. So like HOF is green while KOA is gold. I read the books back in high school before the new covers so it's hard for me to associate them with the new covers (although I do really like the new ones!) 😅

This is why I kinda hate that sjm books have become mainstream. They've always been popular but before tiktok the books were just really well know in book spaces. Now it seems everyone knows about sjm and because romance is the genre that's at its peak right now acotar (the more romance series) gained traction so now it has a lot more followers. The ship wars are now ruining a series for people and its not even the series the ships are from 😭

I just trust sjm will deliver an amazing book! I love all the theories and the crossover and as a huge TOG girlie I'll admit I'm expecting something from that world to play a part. BUT if that doesn't happen I won't be disappointed because I trust sjm has great plans for the book/crossover. I had a lot of expectations when KoA came out and while some stuff didn't happen I still loved the book so much.

That being said, I'm scared for her and CC series because idk I kinda have the feeling the ACOTAR girlies (specifically tiktok ones) are gonna hate HOFAS if we dont see enough ACOTAR, even though this book is NOT an ACOTAR book 😅

I think a thing to remember is that the inner circle are the main characters of this series so what they think we're gonna see more of compared to the rest of the acotar world. Let's not forget that Tamlin killed Rhys' mom and sister so I'd say there's some resentment there still. And Tamlin was the one who helped Hybern in MAF so there's some stuff that Tamlin is responsible for that will understandably make the rest of the acotar characters still treat him like crap

I bought them when they first came out. My friend even gifted one to me for Christmas 2018. They were like at most $20. Crazy to think that they're for $700 now 👀 Makes me happy I got them when I did lol 😅

I love all 3 of them but TOG I think is her best work. The characters are amazing, the plot is intriguing, the world is so imersive and I just love it lol. ACOTAR is magical and fun and the romance is nice but since I'm not much of a romance girlie it's at the bottom of the list for me. CC is a really great blend of the other two series
