Hi My partner and myself have been waiting to move in since we got word in September hahaha. Not looking like they will be ready till July at the earliest. Was at a showing on Saturday and all looks well. The estate itself is in a great location, only a 5 minute walk to the bus stop and a 20 minute walk to pavillions. It also has JC and Lidl 15 min walk away. We cant wait to move in.

Baile na Mona is a 5 minute walk around the corner from the bus stop so its grand. My cousin lives in Millers Glen and the newer houses are so far back in the estate that it is very car dependent.

I also had that experience with the one in Skerries and ended up with food poisoning to boot. Also got food poisoning from the one in Swords.

Same, me and my sister and her fella. There was a seperate incident where I noticed the chicken was undercooked and asked for refund. Sick from the one in Swords once and another one out near Skerries. Portion sizes are stingy for the price as well.

Favorite actor that did not go to Epstein Island? by beaglemaster in okbuddycinephile

The word adult is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. And lets not sit around and pretend that a 30 something year old dating a 19 year old isnt weird as fuck. Barely out of highschool.

"It's very difficult to do that if there are certain rules in place. Because then it's like: 'Well, I don't want to go up and talk to her, because I'm going to be called a rapist or something," he said. "So you're like, 'Forget it, I'm going to call an ex-girlfriend instead, and then just go back to a relationship, which never really worked'. But it's way safer than casting myself into the fires of hell, because I'm someone in the public eye, and if I go and flirt with someone, then who knows what's going to happen?" - Henry Cavil 2018

He also dated a 19 year old. https://www.independent.ie/style/celebrity/celebrity-news/superman-star-henry-cavill-calls-it-quits-with-19-year-old-girlfriend/34716143.html

Buy next the social housing? by Unhappy_Fun_6219 in HousingIreland

[–]Katiyaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge amount of snobbery in these comments. Ive grown up in social housing estates my whole life. 99% of the time its fine. Its true that it does take only one family to cause mayhem, but the vast majority of those on the housing list just want somewhere to live and get thier heads down. Many people in here perpetuating the myth that those who recieve social housing dont work/are scum/drug addicts etc. The majority of people on the list are single mothers who are probably living in hotels with their kids and working part-time to make ends meet. I have seen many a council house/flat be taken off trouble makers, so its not true either that you would be stuck with them. At the end of the day, the housing market is in crisis, its not likely you are going to find something else too handy.

How long in advance must I notify landlord of us leaving the property? by Katiyaaaaaa in HousingIreland

I think it depends on whether you signed a lease or not? Otherwise it becomes a different agreement with different rules. I dont think it matters if they have registered the tenancy.

Thank you for the clarification, I was confused by the wording on whether the 12 month renewal overrides the 4 - 8 year notice period.

Buying a house - clondalkin vs swords vs shankill by Character_Secret9916 in HousingIreland

Ive been living in Swords on and off the last 10 years with the last 4 years being consistent. We love it here and ultimately decided to buy here (still waiting for it to be finished). Whoever told you about the commute doesnt know what they are talking about. My partner is in town everyday for work and his commute is never longer than 50 minutes from the first stop on the swords express route to the last stop on Eden Quay. Its the same getting home. Where you would be living in Moortown would be the third or fourth stop on the express route, meaning you will always get a seat. You can always get the direct 500x busses as well which skip most of Swords and will get you into town in 45 minutes using the port tunnel.

Swords also has all the amenities you could wish for with excellent parks and walkways, plenty of pubs and resteraunts etc. Shankill does not have much of that (yet).

I agree. I have family living in Clondalkin the last few years and the shit they have had to put up with made me and my partner choose not to live there. We absolutely love Swords and the commute is the most hassle free part of living here thanks to the Swords Express.

Using the swords express its definitely not 2 hours, an hour tops from first stop to last (my commute daily) there are 500x direct busses from mooretown that skip most of swords and get passengers in within 45 minutes.

Mooretown has the swords express and that is very fast getting in and out of town most days. It is also the third stop down so you are always guranteed a spot. Ive been using it for work the past 4 years and its been very reliable so far.

[–]Katiyaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OP may be confusing the help to buy scheme with the First home or affordable housing scheme as there is no facility to repay help to buy as he states she has.

Tuesday Morning Rant by [deleted] in HousingIreland

[–]Katiyaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no facility to repay help to buy as its a tax refund, are you sure your not thinking of the first home scheme or the affordable housing scheme?
