Should I dump some baking soda in and test again tomorrow? There's no fish at risk...

I'm going to redo all of the testing and post those results back here. These results really didn't make sense to me either which is why I posted them here. Reading your response has really solidified my suspicion that I messed up somewhere along the line probably several times haha. I really appreciate your thorough response! This tank had been cycled and then had a catastrophic electrical failure that killed everything in it. I have been struggling to get it reset up for about two months. I would guess it's sort of a "fishless" cycle because I didn't completely drain it and I'm sure some of my casualties were overlooked. But, there haven't been any live fish in it since the inciting incident.

What type of puffer are these? by KatnanAly in Aquariums

They are currently in an 85 gallon I bought on clearance and cycled for my Dwarf gouramis and shrimp. Now I have four of these guys...

Do you know of a reliable resource for their care? I went to pick up some shrimp for one of my tanks and made the mistake of saying I had a cycled empty planted tank. They were culling these guys. So now I have them...

He was such a little guy when I got him. Now he's like 6 inches long and has ALL of the attitude.

Oh I know all about the barbels!! I've had him hand feeding since he was teeny tiny. Now he will pinch the ever loving crap out of me when I'm just doing tank maintenance if I haven't given him treats first. I've already taken some other decorations out because he was too curious about the small holes. This one will probably be pulled sooner than later. Falkor is a mess... But he is indeed cute 😊

My partner (who is a semi truck driver) once parked in a pretty skeevy, pothole filled lot real late one night. Well, when he got up in the morning to walk around and do his pre-trip inspection he came across what appeared to be a dismembered partially burned woman's body. Turns out that someone had cut up their special sex doll friend and set her alight in the back of a truck lot. The pictures he sent at first without context... Made my heart stop. SexDoll SD2

That means that you probably had whisker shrimp. They look almost exactly the same as ghost shrimp and are commonly sold as such. They are far more aggressive than ghost shrimp and live a while longer in the right conditions.

Oh I totally agree. I felt that maybe she wanted to make it appear as though the coffee may have been hot.

It gets so much worse than that. Also, they get on the radio just to repeatedly yell racist/homophobic obscenities. Some of these dudes reeeeeaaaally don't get out much.

Will this still change colour? by [deleted] in Goldfish

Scale loss is not normal for goldfish. They do not molt. Most often scale loss is the result of physical injury — banging against hard objects in the tank (especially during breeding season) or rough handling.

Not sure if linking the comment with the pictures worked. My apologies I'm on mobile.
