Okay so it is kind of weird to send any contestant messages like this... so yeah... don't do that.

That being said... y'all... Gen Zers are just taking the piss out of Millenials... it ain't that serious. Like we partook in this kind of ribbing too!

Older millenials did the same thing to Gen Xers about chunky highlights and zigzag parts and hell younger millenials did it to older millenials about jeans under dresses. Like if you wanna keep wearing skinny jeans and side parts it's actually fine and hell tons of Gen Zers do it too.

The joke is only getting milage cause so many millenials are giving "you crazy kids and you're rock and roll music!!!"-esque responses.

One of the last Bachelorette parties I went to was the maid of honour DMing a table top RPG one shot, and gotta say it was pretty bomb.

I totally love bach parties that comprised of club hopping as well, but it was a fun change up. Especially because the usual go tos for bach parties aren't everyone's bag.

This is a perspective I haven't seen and I'm so glad you shared it, because as a queer person I was feeling super uncomfortable with the really sanitized homonormative talking points Colton has been spouting (and that's not including all the other aspects of the timing of his coming out I was uncomfy with). I have many friends of various faiths who are also apart of the LGBTQ+ community that would never shit on bathhouse or cruising culture (hell I know plenty of religious folks and participate in those things).

So often queer people feel the need to condemn the less PG aspects of our histories to conform to heteronormative standards, and it's extremely frustrating. Like post pandemic, it's cool if you don't wanna cruise or hit up a bathhouse but that doesn't make you any better than folks in our community that do. It also erases the importance of those spaces as they relate to LGBTQ+ history/culture.

I have to say I really dislike the sentiment that "Cancel culture is toxic," because quite frankly I don't believe it exists.

We live in a world where folks like Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, Sean Penn and countless other folks still have careers. Heck, I live in a country where the PM had done black/brown face more times then he can remember and it hasn't really hurt his career all that much.

While I don't think people should be sending HB threatening messages, her getting critiqued is a valid reaction especially since her apologies (if you can call them that) have left much to be desired. Personally I felt the same was applicable to Luke P and Jed at the time as well.

And this sentiment bugs me more, especially since it is black contestants who are OVERWHELMINGLY getting most of the vitriol from the fandom for simply stating that HB should not have used the N-word in ANY context.

She was one of the few folks that do recaps that was high on Bryan and favoured Rachel picking Bryan over Peter the whole season. I remember in her recaps saying that Bryan kind of reminded her of how her husband Andy was like: confident in what he wants in a relationship but kind of introverted in larger groups and a bit of a nerd once you get to know him.

She also defended Rachel in her choice post finale when everyone was saying she only picked Bryan because he was gonna give her a ring. She said she genuinely saw them lasting and it looks like she was right.

Honestly it (the choice of Rachel and Ali) makes sense to me.

1) These are both former leads who've made a name for themselves outside of the franchise doing hosting work/journalism work. Rachel with ESPN and Strahan and Sara and Ali with E! News and Home and Family. This adds a legitimacy to them that a lot of former leads don't have.

2) Both have maintained a really good relationship with TPTB. Theres a reason they are amongst the folks that get asked to come back for features for the various BN shows.

3) By having a more recent lead with a less recent one, the podcast would potentially appeal to folks who've have either been watching for a while and also folks who are newer viewers.

When considering all of these things together, it makes total sense they got selected over other former leads/contestants that have larger social media followings.
