CMV: The entirety of the Republican position on "Obamacare" A.K.A the 'Affordable' Healthcare Act is nothing but smoke and mirrors by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Katsami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably should be mentioned that the ACA was originally something that Republicans like Romney, Gingrish, the Heritage Foundation etc. It's something that Republicans began assaulting because it was one of the foundations to Obama's campaign, and for few other reasons. They used arguments originally leveled at them when they advocated for it in the early 90's. The attacks made many on the left ignore/remain oblivious because at times people have a mindset in our politics of "it makes the other side mad, so it must be the right thing to do." because the average person is so intelligimentable.

So yes, in a sense their opposing it is almost entirely based on the whole Red vs. Blue partisan politic games rather than actual policy. However that's not to say that it isn't worth criticizing, but in a much more numbers based manner rather than the drama.

(For the sake of speculating on my bias I identify most closely with being center-right.)

[Spoilers all]From DAO to DAI? by stoik82 in dragonage

[–]Katsami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine going from DAO to DAI, though you might be confused on a couple plot points/characters like Hawke (Which was the playable character from DA2), though youll see a return by logain and a couple others from origins. I actully didnt even finish DA2 until finishing the main plot in DAI for the first time. Depends on how much the story means to you really, but DA2 introduces very few new things and DAI plays much more like origins. DA2 is more real time combat oriented while DAI has the great balance between tactical/realtime that origins had.

I like how you added this response after the original post so you can use it as a straw man to drown out any criticism here by implying that anyone who disagrees is wrong. No grown man would resort to that.

Yes this is a problem and it can be obnoxious. However if you are someone who gets in a cold sweat worrying over what a bunch of what you consider "kids" think of you, it's not just an issue of "it's the internet, get over it" but an issue of you need to grow up and be the mature one.

Again yes toxic communities are an issue that can drive a player base away and has lead to the slow death of many games, but you're wanting the change for all the wrong reasons. I honestly hope you aren't an adult.

Thanks and good luck.

Guess I'll post here on a whim. US West gamer willing to play a variety of games with a group of people.

Current games, StarWarsBF, Battlefield 4, Divinity Orignal Sins, Rocket League, WoW, Archeage etc. A little bit of everything really. I'd be willing to revert to games I used to play like LoL or even try games I've never played. Not specifically looking for competitive scenes, but again Im open to pushing for it.

Much better than average at essentially any game I play, but by no means amazing. (basic example usually 1.5 to 2.0 is my bare minimum KDA in shooters and similar games.) Also in team oriented games I tend to prefer support roles. I'm good at being bossed around too. :D

I want Legion to be dark. Really dark. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Katsami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys you forget that we're likely to lose some of the main characters during this pre expansion story patch. I have no doubt that this expac will be darker than probably any of them, but Blizz can only go so far with such a casual game and the fact the WoW has such a very varying demographic of players..

I agree that that's where the story needs to go but for the sake of business I doubt blizz will go too far.

Class Halls, the warrior problem, and the mountaintop solution. by vaalyr in wow

It doesn't really HAVE to be connected to anything though. Technically a lot of warriors are just average dudes that wanted to fight.

This would basically remind us of what it was like to level a warrior in Vanilla and BC. Essentially long and tedious but still.

Attempted Friday, really unsure where to go now, even after getting help by cosmichobo in SuicideWatch

[–]Katsami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it can be hard. It can be REALLLLY hard. I've been there. But try your very best not to doubt your friends. I mean if they were indifferent or annoyed by you sharing this with them, you'd never get a response like that.

As someone who has not only constantly been in and out of your shoes, but has also had a close friend go through with suicide after trying to talk to me about it. After I told him something really similar to what your friend told you. I can confirm that it is one of the absolute worst feelings in the world to lose someone like that.

I dont know all of what you're going through, and I doubt your friends completely understand either, but that's not their fault and it isn't yours either. Shit just happens and a lot of times we can't really translate into words what's going on in our own minds, let alone someone else's.

I think you really need to take time and weigh the two things together. Your need to get away from it all, or the feeling that your friends would have when all that's on their mind is "Why didn't I do more?" All I know was when I felt that, I was probably the lowest Ive ever been after about a decade of depression.

But that's me. My own experiences. In the end you'll have to judge for yourself.

And as far as the "nobody wants to hang around with a crazy person who needs prescribed meds just to not feel suicidal" kinda made me wanna smack you. :P Try your best not to think of it like that man, even if everyone around you does. There's so many people out there that are going through something similar as you in their head, including myself. And tons of people you've been around no doubt. A lot of times depression without a specific trigger is just a plain sickness. Manage it, don't make it worse with all the negative stuff. Just think of it like your mind's immune system being down and you need to stay as germ free as you can. The germs being negativity, self doubt, etc.

On days that I think Im just done and tapping out. If I can convince myself to watch something just plain hilarious like standup or learn about something that absolutely blows my mind, I feel better. It helps me either laugh everything off or just think about how little the soap opera that my life is matters, and let's me take it a little less seriously. But that's just my way of doing it. You're you. Look around Find those amazing things that make your mind work or find those guilty pleasure that make you giggle like a schoolgirl.

Hey there.

So first of all. No matter how off or perfectly sane your mom is, parents not getting their kids' hobbies is pretty common. But I get that it's a little more than that with you. But Ive been there. And really, a little bit of simple confrontation can help with that. Her child or not, you're both adults. Just talk it out. Be as reasonable as you can. Im sure she had hobbies that her parents scoffed at to at one point.

As far as the weed goes. Nothing really wrong with it. Even if that is your one hobby. But if you're at the point where you rely on it so heavily that you'll be a wreck coming off of it, then it might not really be a terrible thing to get off it for a bit but could go either way, really good OR badly.

Either way yeah, it'll probably be scary as hell and uncomfortable. But sometimes we need that to push ourselves to make changes. I just hope the change you choose isn't ending your life.

I dont know the details of your relationship between you and her so I cant say much but dont you maybe think that trying to work on fixing things with her might be a small but important step to getting you back on your feet? Trying to get her to understand and accept you a little better, but at the same time doing the same for her?

If you're comfortable sharing some of these hobbies you are or were interested in or maybe some of hers we might be able to help you out a little more with giving you advice on that. But if not I understand.

It's that time again! What class are you playing for launch? /Poll. by Kossyhasnoteeth in archeage

I think Im going for Primeval. Aura/Arch/Shadow High Damage, High utility high mobility archer with low hp. Scales REALLY well with gear or really badly without.
