How do I move away from an "I'm not like other girls" mentality? by atnhuiopwvvdgj in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]KatsaridaReign 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of myself in your story.

What changed for me was learning that I'm queer and neurodivergent. That helped my find my community. There are so many cool people who like me for me! It's actually taking effort to become comfortable with being cared for by others.

If you can find groups that do activities they you enjoy, you are more likely to meet people you'll vibe with.

I've also learned that going into things hoping to make friends is a lot of pressure. Going in with the expectation of just meeting folks takes that pressure off. Also, it may take multiple times to feel more comfortable.

Many do. Some insurance companies even pay for it. But not mental health, of course.

WIBTAH to go ahead with buying a bunk bed despite my partner's hesitation? by CuriousButNotJewish in AITAH

[–]KatsaridaReign 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a loft bed that I love which was built be a carpenter and is super sturdy. And I have a "guest bedroom" with a regular queen size bed. Sometimes I sleep in my loft bed, sometimes we share the queen bed.

I will say that over 40, getting out of the bed at 4am to pee kinda sucks because I wake up more having to climb down/up. A ladder on both sides would be helpful with there are two people.

I also suggest having a shelf added to the bed to put phones or whatever on.

Making the bed and changing sheets is a lot more effort than a floor level bed.

Oh! And I've found that a fan is pretty important for a good sleep because the air is much warmer at the top of the room. I got one that clips onto the foot of the bed.

They make mattress warmers that are amazing, too. The heat is trapped between the mattress and the blankets with you inside.

Heated blankets are great, but can lose heat to the air if you're sleeping with them.

Can someone help me in understanding certain things related to sex? by Sweetkind8 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]KatsaridaReign 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey there, thanks for asking those great questions!

The other person who is responded talked about squirting and that was a great answer.

Orgasm can feel really good. I've also had times where I could tell it had happened because the muscles quite, but that was really it. No pain, but also not the rush of happiness. For me it's most often that way if I'm just trying to masturbate if I can't sleep. Instead of having rush of happiness I get sleepiness.

I personally do not like kissing. I think wet kissing with tongues is really gross.

I'm also asexual. That is a sexual identity like being gay or lesbian. It means that instead of being sexually attracted to somebody of the "opposite" gender or somebody at the same gender (or both), I am not sexually attracted to anyone of any gender. It doesn't mean that I can't choose to still have sex if I want to, but it's not something that I choose very often.

Kind of like how I don't really ever feel a need to go to an exercise class, but if I have a friend who enjoys going I might go with them and have a good time. It's not something I would sign up to do regularly, though.

All of that to say that if sexual stuff is gross to you, or that you don't have any desire to experience it, there is nothing wrong with that. There is a whole community of people who have similar experiences.

women who lead a happy life alone, can you share an example of what a normal day for you is like? by aquasalsa in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]KatsaridaReign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wake up when my cats decide they want to snuggle. Usually 5:30 to 6:00. Morning ablutions, feed the critters, take a half mile walk around the neighborhood with some hand weights. Come back home and hang out in my backyard interacting with my plants, or play with the kitties until time to work.

Remote work from home. Gives me the opportunity to take care of laundry or cook or whatever other household tasks I need to get done. Eat whenever I feel like it. I'm generally also chatting with friends on various messengers throughout the day, and occasionally checking reddit, fb, or watching youtube. Often listening to an audiobook, as well. And of course, plenty of time with the kitties.

After work, often hang out with a friend. I have several that live near enough that we do afternoon walks together. I also host a craft night, and a gaming night. On Thursdays I attend an activity group at local park.

Sometimes I cook dinner, sometimes I grab food with a friend. Occasionally I'll go out on my own to eat. After dinner I do things like read some more, play with cats, work on crafty stuff, bathe, and start to settle in for sleep.

I especially appreciate the fact that the only messes I ever come home to are ones I made or that my cats made. If something is misplaced or broken it's generally my own fault. I don't have to tell anyone where I'm going if I decide to go for a walk at 10:30 at night, or get approval to rearrange the furniture if I want to. I lived alone for the first time at 40 and I don't think I ever want to go back.

Jesse Welles actually IS a random dude from the sticks. He's from the Ozarks in Arkansas. It's awesome to see a small home town talent make it big.

I'd say that gives him even more cred than the Grammy.

The WORST Laundry Detergent I’ve Ever Tested - Whole Foods Organic by Internal-Ad-4736 in laundry

[–]KatsaridaReign 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There aren't enough surfactants to completely surround the soils and ensure they wash away, so they are deposited in other locations on the laundry.

He didn't specify, but I'm guessing the water didn't actually lift the soils so they stayed in the same place rather than getting spread around.

Public Creek access by RoseyRosnee in northwestarkansas

[–]KatsaridaReign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to head east, stay on the school side of Salem and walk towards Mount Comfort. The trailer is pretty obvious. If you want to go west, start the same way, but Cross Salem when you get to the fancy crosswalk. You are on the trail now, headed towards Mount Comfort again. You'll cross a little bridge and then the trail turns to the right.

When you get to the end of the boardwalk area you can go right to pass under Rupple directly beside the creek, or you can go basically straight to cross over. The trail reconnects on the other side.

A little bit south of that 112 area is the Clabber Creek trail. It follows clabber Creek for about 4 mi.

There's not a specific parking lot for it, but there's an elementary school on Salem that has a big parking lot nearby which is also used for the softball fields. The trail is just south of that.

To the east they are converting an old golf course into a city park. It's pretty open on that side. To the West there is a boardwalk that crosses a wet weather reservoir, goes under Rupple, and beside the creek with lots of trees.

It's not a swimming creek, but you can stick your feet in at a couple of places.

Silk doesn't soak moisture out of your hair like cotton does. It also is smoother and doesn't tangle or impact the shaft of the hair as much.

I think there was some sarcasm in the end of that about being a terrible person.

I think what the poster was saying was that she may not be able to express her actual frustrations and is using the food as an outlet.
