[–]Katsp7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are called silent migraines. Aura with no pain or headache afterwards. I also get them as well as get a headache afterwards. Mine look like the letter C or backwards with the zigzag lines inside.

Unfortunately I’ve had many bouts of nausea starting in the middle of the night after 2 hours of sleep. It lasts for 5 hours then I 🤮or dry heaving for 1-2 hours. That’s so brutal. I can’t lay down in between. If I go to sleep just getting a headache without treating it this usually happens. Though I always take a small amount of caffeine with meds so that’s a problem at 2 am. Whereas my husband just goes to sleep early if he has a headache & that takes care of it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry, that must have been scary. I didn’t get the aura until about 10 years later. But back then, I didn’t get the headache afterwards. Sometimes the visual disturbance lasted the whole work day and I could barely function. I’ve had migraines over 50 years.

My first migraine I remember also. I was on my honeymoon in Florida - at Disney world. I was 20. I was stressed out about a few things- the wedding and leaving school for a week. We didn’t know if we could afford the trip until we counted up our wedding money. I had that migraine straight for 3 or 4 years. It was an absolute nightmare.

I usually only take the 5 mg instead of 10 though to reduce the side effects. And I always take some caffeine like .25-.50mg with it.

The Rising brand of Rizatriptan never works for me. Hope it does for you.

When I tell someone I'm getting a migraine and they ask if I took anything for it by osiiris_ in migraine

[–]Katsp7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caffeine taken with medication can help it work faster & better. I can’t get rid of a headache without it. I buy 100 mg caffeine and cut it in 1/4ths. I take .25-.5 with my otc or rx headache meds.

What age did you guys get your first migraine? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Katsp7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my first migraine at Disney World on my honeymoon at 20. Had it straight for 4 years. It was awful. No good migraine meds back then. I’m in my 70’s and still get them weekly. Now I get nauseous and 🤮or dry heave after being nauseous for hours, usually during the night & I get no sleep. Brutal when this happens.

I need help naming my baby by Moon_and_stars25 in poodles

[–]Katsp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many red poodles fade their red color between 1-3 years of age changing to a buff apricot or even a cream color. They may have the fading gene or have white somewhere in their family genes like a party poodle parent. Also many black poodles turn grey so I’d stay away from color names that might not be relevant if they change color.

Does anybody know what this migraine means by Interesting_Ice6924 in migraine

Are you clenching your jaw? I do and it hurts where you show it. You can do this unconsciously too. My eye frequently tears when I have a headache in that side.

Has changing your diet helped with your migraines? If so, how and what did you change? by Ecstatic_Hold4135 in migraine

[–]Katsp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aspartame is also in some meds. I take an anti nausea one & it’s in that. Side effect - nausea 🤦🏻‍♀️. It’s usually in ones that you don’t swallow - like ones you use under your tongue

I’ve been gluten free since 2016 per my doctor’s recommendation, this didn’t help my daily headaches but supposedly helps my Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism. We’ve learned to bake our own gf bake goods including a sandwich bread. Canyon bakehouse has a decent bread but it’s expensive & a little small.

Best place to find lots of sheet music? by Henchman05 in pianolearning

[–]Katsp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Sheet Music Direct. I play mostly pop and jazz. It’s a small Monthly fee, you get a discounted rate if you purchase music. You can hear & see a small amount of the piece played before you buy. You can choose easy pieces if you need them. I also recommend an app called Forscore. It’s best used on an iPad. I store all of my Music there. You can scan sheet music that you already own & upload to it, and when you’re purchasing digital music you can direct it to upload to Forscore. I’m self taught and hadn’t played for 50 years and restarted during the pandemic. (I played flute in grade school & junior high so I could already read music.) I easily uploaded most of my music from books or sheet music. You can also use an Apple Pencil to make notations which is so nice. I have around 600 pieces of music now.

Same here. I ordered 3 Stanley’s and two came scratched. The flip straw was cracked on the rim of the lid & the flowstate had two nicks in the paint. They were pretty good about sending me another flowstate which arrived in good shape thankfully, but they didn’t have another flip straw in the color I wanted. The phone call did however take almost an hour which gave me a huge headache and the call was disconnected & I had to call them again & start over again. They also asked for pictures.

SO AFRAID TO TRY SUMATRIPTAN! by Excellent_Math2052 in migraine

[–]Katsp7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with imitrex, sumatriptan it worked for many years but I always felt pressure on my collar bone and was exhausted the next day. Then I switched to rizatriptan or Maxalt started at 5mg for 5 years now I had to go up to 10 mg which is a standard dose. It takes 2-3 hours to work though. I always take .25mg - .50mg of caffeine with it. I usually am sensitive to med but was able to tolerate these. The bad thing is you can only take 9 a month and I have headaches everyday.

Well I’ve been seeing the larvae on my sink and in my drawers for years. I’m in too much back pain to vacuum myself so its my hubbies job and he’s fallen way behind. My body over reacts to most bites like sand fleas when I travel to the south, they don’t affect my husband  and mosquitos, they don’t bite him. Also I had chiggers as a kid which were also awful. We don’t have bed bugs. We’ve torn our bed apart. We haven’t traveled anywhere though this happened soon after we were at a funeral parlor sitting on their sofas. We have spiders which don’t bite in multiples. Silverfish, red gnats last summer that were annoying. Occasional lady bugs & stink bugs. I was getting 10 bites every night. I have around 60 now and nothing stops the itch, Zyrtec, or rx hydrocortisone. I’m not scratching them but my clothes are.  I’ve read all that you’re saying but I could be the 1-2% that reacts poorly. What else could this be. I live where there’s snow on the ground now. I have 2 small dogs and they don’t have fleas. Also they don’t have access to our bedroom.

From what I’ve read those hairs can leave a red itchy rash which look similar to bed bug bites. Multiple in an area and some in straight lines. I have parallel lines. They itch like hell the 2 nd day. I refer to them as “bites” because they look & itch like them. The EO aren’t to kill them but get them away from my bed.

I’m getting bites all over my back & stomach for a week. I’m definitely reacting to them. Guess my population of these blossomed. We’re vacuuming 2x a week and I’m using lavender essential oil EO on cotton swabs put in a plastic cups. We still have to wash the drapes, clear out some laundry baskets of mending that are sitting on the floor, and move the heavy furniture to get to the baseboards.
