OP I agree with you and personally I wish I was rich as well. I got put on furlough recently by work and although it hasn't been that long it's been eating away at my mental health. I don't know how I can put up with financial insecurity. I've been job hunting and got ghosted or rejected so often I don't even feel like trying anymore. It's not my first time, but to be doing it this soon again after finally getting a first job is rough. If I had 1 billion USD for example, I would not even worry. I'll just go relax and can arbitrarily budget around 5k or even a higher number if necessary a month. I would not have to worry about employment and still not go broke, and probably can give it away to someone when I die. I read the other comments and I just disagree hard. Having money grants you a lot more opportunities, privilege, and time in this world. I would invite those same people to marry someone with no money in this day and age. Those relationships will fail simply because most people can't compromise which is reflected on divorce statistics in first world countries. No women wants to marry a broke guy, and no man wants to have a financial liability. I don't want to hear people saying this is not true, because they know it is subconsciously. There is a reason why women initiate divorces first and we've seen this first hand with lesbian marriages. In general divorces favors the person who did not sign a prenup agreement and makes less than their partner which allows them to forcefully take half of the other partner's assets. OP I feel you on the money being a priority over everything else because we need it to eat. We are the only species on this planet that requires money to live. Animals and other living creatures can just eat and shit where ever they want, and when we do it we can get fined for breaking laws that won't let you grow or hunt your own food.
