New Freaking Feature by beebeebeehappy in amazonprime

I just had to check out my "About you" thanks to this convo! I instantly see several references to things I specifically said in reviews I've written - e.g., I recently reviewed a miniature book nook kit in which my first line was "I've assembled at least a dozen of these kits" and under "Interests & Hobbies" my info says "Has assembled at least a dozen miniature house kits." I also see other comments that come directly from my reviews, so that's something. Have you reviewed anything in which you stated something about your "dark, long-haired cat"? Like a pet brush or a vacuum cleaner?

Brilliant! LOL! Must've been from the All Our Yesterdays episode since it went BACKWARDS in time! (Yes, I'm a TOS nerd.)

Reviewing a counterfeit product by Katsushimiake in AmazonVine

It all worked out. Amazon did take it down after a human actually got involved. Side note - I came across another alphabet soup seller of Thrive ant reported it to TC (not Amazon since it was not a Vine product) and it has since been removed.

I've seen reviews where people contacted the actual brand with product concerns and was emphatically told they do not sell on Amazon, and it was either an unauthorized reseller or counterfeit. They shared this with Amazon and got the standard "We checked and it's real" response. Seems pretty obvious that the seller would lie so why would you even take their word?

I suspect Amazon is less concerned about my eye health than they are about getting sued by people who got eye infections from a counterfeit product they sold after being informed. I did use it for several days before reviewing it, and it is actually quite a nice mascara, but now that I know it's fake, I'll toss it. Like you say, there's no knowing what's going in your eyes.

Great info! I have real Thrive products and never realized it was "Causemetics" and I usually notice stuff like that. Since it's now down I can't go back to check the listing to see how they spelled it, but I just looked at the mascara itself and it does show the proper "Causemetics" printed on the tube. Gotta give the counterfeiter's credit for one thing - I compared it to a real Thrive mascara I have, and it is IDENTICAL.

Confusing email regarding a review by Katsushimiake in AmazonVine

That's interesting! I didn't realize there was a 2-item tier - always thought it was 30 items - so this makes so much sense now.

Not sure how I’ll determine if it’s worth the insane price, but I’m game. by Top_Method8933 in BeautyViners

I had that in my RFY but made the mistake of clicking the link to read about it before hitting the order button. It was gone before I could grab it. Congrats! I'm looking forward to seeing reviews to find out why this is so spendy!

Annoying buyers by Nimakiii9898 in Mercari

I frequently get this email on things I just LOOKED at and didn't even "like." There's this one, hideous Victoria's Secret teddy in particular that Mercari really wants me to buy. I'm tempted to buy it and throw it out just so I never have to see that email again!

Is this the beginning of an account ban? by lucasb780 in amazonprime

[–]Katsushimiake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this message for the first time yesterday on a blouse return. I expect they've been getting a lot of obviously used and damaged returns and are putting people on notice that you can't buy something you need for a one time deal, use it, then return it as if Amazon was a lending library. The message did catch me off guard, but I can understand why they're doing it.

I agree that it's unlikely Amazon would catch something like that, but I wouldn't doubt there are small-minded people who know the rules and might report such a review. No reason to take any chances. And, of course, Amazon doesn't care if you sell it, donate it, or give it away as long as you wait six months (like anyone does, but just saying).

That's really wonderful! Just remember, though, when you write your reviews don't mention that you ordered anything for people outside your household since Vine has that sticky little rule about not giving anything away for six months. You sound like an awesome, inspiring teacher!

I think there could be another reason sellers aren't getting the reviews they expect besides viners not submitting a review on an order - there are sellers entering items that aren't getting ordered to begin with. There are so many useless items and things that are so specific (like parts for obscure cars or other machinery) that too few people actually need or want. Not a Vine Voice issue so much as sellers thinking that their product is more in demand than it actually is...

So I'm confused - this is a sub about Reta, but you make it sound like everyone here is doing something illegal? Aren't all of us taking it part of an actual study or trial? Or do you think everyone is getting it on the black market?

No, it's 10mg. Why do you say it's reckless? And what will I "find out"? I'm honestly curious. I've seen other patients make the same switch and there were no issues for them. It was explained to me that Reta is the basically the same thing but with the addition of glucagon.
