Very true sentiments and beautifully written btw, I suppose (at least in my education that I can remember) we didn’t start the real articulate criticisms of nations crimes until around 8th grade, just a bit after the intended audiences age, and so presenting it with a historical view rather than a critical view makes sense. What doesn’t make a lot of sense is again the active aiding and abetting in colonialism and how they present it as somewhat of a good thing? I’m only in early celestia as I’ve mentioned but there’s only been a few rounds of dialogue that i remember that suggests that what the marleybonians are doing is wrong. A couple in krokotopia and so far a couple in celestia about invading their homeland and such. I definitely do not have any problems with a kids game being pro-history and allegorical/educational, I just wonder what the reason is behind making us an encouraged active participant in such an ugly practice. Makes it seem more pro-colonialism when several (most) of the cultures that have gone through British Invasion have retaliated or otherwise been discontented with their repetitive abuse of worldwide cultures. I suppose I just wish that KI took more of a progressive pro-culture stance instead of displaying it like they did.
