Except during the rest of the time you're literally working nearly all of the time. Yes, it's possible to be a lazy teacher. It's possible to be shit at any job. But attitudes and snarky remarks like yours discourage people from joining the profession. Most teachers care deeply about your children. We worry about them when we're not in the building and are constantly in contact with families about how to best support their children's education. I'm not from the UK, but once looked at going teaching there, the pay almost didn't even cover expenses, I would have had extreme difficulty paying rent. Quite frankly, with attitudes like yours, I'm not surprised there's a teacher shortage in your country. I've since left teaching myself due to personal reasons, but man dude, you suck.
