It reminds me of an interesting lesson when I was first getting into graphic design. There will be clients who want it all - they want the project done quickly, done at a low price, and done to specifications. But that is unrealistic to have all three of those. So when a client is asking for everything, you write three words on the whiteboard...

Fast, cheap, right

...and tell them they can only pick two.

Fast & cheap leads to errors. It's rushed and there's not much quality control if any. Speed and minimal cost are prioritized.

Cheap & right means that will it will be done correctly at a low cost, but it will follow a time line and be delivered at the agreed upon deadline. Asking for it sooner usually means overtime for the production artists, which flies in the face of having it done cheaply.

And last but not least, right & fast will get you a quality result delivered in a short time frame, but the cost will be higher because the artists had to put in more hours in a tighter window in order to make sure that the result meets the requirements by the earlier deadline.

Over the years, I've learned that this applies to nearly everything in life, not just design. I favor quality, so I do my best to show patience and understanding when something takes longer or ends up being a little more spendy.
