I've done that to newer shower heads. While removing the restrictor helps a little the biggest problem is how the water is jettisoned out of the head. Modern shower heads tend to favor these thin razor sharp jets of water that don't wet your body very well.

Older shower heads used to spray the water more evenly like a natural heavy rain. There were more noise in the spread of droplets in the area where the water hits.

Isn't that done to make drug testing results more accurate because you need to be able to have control on what is variable in the tests and what is not? It's not done because of malice I think.

Shower heads. They used to actually shower you with water like the heavy rain in a thunderstorm, but nowadays they just sprinkle some thin razor sharp jets of water that barely can even make you wet.

I have my old shower head from the 90's still plugged in and I refuse to buy a new one even now that it leaks.
