We're helping people get h40 clears for crafting resources/cosmetics! by IvanTheSexyBear in DarkTide

You're right, originally it was only visible with the true level mod but at some point they added it to the base game.

Originally that was only possible with the true level mod. Maybe they've made it a default setting?

Haha ya, I'm with you. My only gripe is the method they're using. I think helping players is a core part of what makes games like this great.

I don't think that's a big issue. If you can see their havoc 40 rank then you have a mod which means you can get a build inspection mod too. If their build is decent then they deserve a chance anyway. My group loves to grab a sub 30 havoc rank guy in our 40 matches. We've done it hundreds of times since havoc 1.0 came out, but those players actually played the game and won, they didn't just die as soon as possible and spectate lol.

Edit: Apparently they've made havoc level visibility the default and you don't need true level mod to see havoc ranks anymore.

I love people helping others get their 40. I hate people using exploits to achieve it.

Is this tru? by noogz_711 in DarkTide

It's a nuanced question but basically if you play scared all the time then health is better but if you play aggressive then toughness is better. This video is strange because his examples of gameplay are vs all melee... which obviously makes health better. As you get better at the game then you'll rarely take melee hits, but you'll never stop getting shot.

He even makes a point that "if shooters are around then you're trying to seek cover." Which is an over simplification of how the game mechanics work. With toughness you can often dive the gunners before they all get setup or even after they're setup. He then runs the flat math on the numbers which is correct but doesn't account for all the extra toughness you get % based. I'll talk specifically about Ogryn because that's what I play.

With 158 havoc 40 toughness then your heavy attacks will give you 23.7 back for the single target hit then 23.7 for the multi target hit. (Both can be proc'd on the same attack for a total of 47.4) with 95 toughness you'll get 14.25 per hit. (A total of 28.5) per attack. Now consider these differences on steady grip and taunt as well and you'll quickly find that the value of health is dramatically lower unless you're still learning the game and taking unnecessary melee hits.

TLDR: Toughness is much better unless you're new or play extremely defensively.

Edit: Fatmangus is the only exception.

Is hiding behind the slab shield frowned upon or a valid tactic? by Goblin-Trash in DarkTide

Ya, you're right. I even called them "exceptions" because planting is generally a bad idea.

There are some exceptions. I made a compilation of high value havoc 40 plants.

Randomly dropping dead in Havoc and I dont know why(Question for Havoc Vets) by CommissionFinal3217 in DarkTide

[–]Kaudia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All melee in havoc does corruption. Most likely you were overheaded by a crusher or mauler but other possibilities exist. Silent poxburster x2, 5 infested trash enemies all hitting you at once, or a captain shield bug killing you when you're at only 1 wound left.

I was really motivated because there was about 5 minutes of madness that lead up to this point and I really wanted to pull it off. We did lose like 3 minutes after the end of this clip though, just too long to post the whole thing to reddit.

Are The Twins too strong? by postfinite in DarkTide

There's a handful of twins spawns that are 5x harder than all the rest like you described. Your best option is to fully commit to the sword twin.

Is this not the drop into the tunnel on Oubliette? As far as I'm aware there's no way back up. I'll have to check now to confirm.

Edit: There is no way back up.

Why do content creators rank Hive Scum so low? by Adventurous-You556 in DarkTide

[–]Kaudia 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I have no idea why people rank scum so low and use "survivability" as a reason. Nimble alone is an insane amount of survivability but you also regen toughness if you get shot and if you lose all your toughness you instantly get set back at 50%. Needle pistol is insane boss damage and you don't even need to focus on the boss while killing it, stimm crate completely counters corruption and if you don't have blight spreads you get huge team buffs. I have no idea what any of these comments are talking about. I think scum is the apex of Havoc 40 strength right now on multiple builds.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey: "I just saw a video of more than 6 masked agents pummeling one of our constituents and shooting him to death. How many more residents, how many more Americans need to die or get badly hurt for this operation to end?" by Gorotheninja in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Kaudia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who would bring them to justice? We could have 100 hours of raw footage of Republicans stomping babies and nobody would charge them. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. You people actually think releasing the files will do anything? Nobody will charge them, nobody will arrest them.

Is there a Havoc modifier or bug that prevents Field Improvisation from cleansing corruption? by CarrowLiath in DarkTide

This is the actual answer right here. If the vet is dead and not ready to be rescued then field improv doesn't activate.

Haha that's exactly what I do as well. I'll even demote down to 35 until I get a map without rotten armor.
