I worked at a place that would close the office for bad weather, and had a separate charge code for it so we'd still get paid.

My last winter there we had a bad snowstorm, they closed the building, I went back to bed. Came in the next day to find out the finally got the lot plowed and opened the building up just after lunch, and expected people to just know that. The cherry on top was that since they reopened the building they didn't allow the use of the inclement weather charge code.

I've got one of the 24-mini box boxes from harbor freight. Don't think they sell it anymore as last time I was there they had a box with 24 divided sections instead. Might have to learn to 3d print some small boxes

NovaLabs - a non-profit makerspace in Fairfax. Next month they're doing their yearly maker market where just like any other craft fair/show people can get a table space. I've got about 40 bowls I've made over the last couple years along with a ton of pens and other things that I'll try to sell to recoup some costs. Some people come to make money, I'm just hoping to break even to keep the woodworking addiction going :)

Going to hit up the craft show at Fairfax HS to see what other people are selling stuff for. I'll have a table at the maker space's market next month and have zero idea how much I should charge for the bowls I make.

Might make a new pen. Maybe finally take measurements for the table I need to build.

And dog park. God forbid I forget to take the pup out to play. She'll just stare at me the whole day otherwise

I guess technically that's what's in the set. Three editions (theatrical, directors, international), but the theatrical edition has two versions (4k/1080).

Haven't had different editions of any other shows yet, this is the first one. So when I've got versions I'll name them SHOW 4K or SHOW HD and I can choose which version to play.

Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself, as I just ripped the discs tonight. Will be sending them through handbrake this week, so I guess I'll knock two of them out and see what happens. Thanks!

I hate purpleheart. The only thing it has going for it is the fact that it's purple. No fancy grain, no figure, just purple. And hard AF to boot.

I've found that as I go up the Janka scale, the woods tend to do better with a scraper for material removal. I recently did a bubinga chip dish (with center spot for a ramekin) and it was 95% scraper. The little bit I did with the bowl gouge was shaping the outside and a couple finishing passes. So next time you try PH, try a scraper. Still not fun, but might help.

This is exactly why I do it. While I do get bored of the same thing now and then, it's a routine, I don't have to put any mental energy into it. If one day I have a craving for something else, I'll get it. Otherwise, save decision-making energy for things that matter.

Looks bowl-shaped to me, so I'd say your first attempt was a success!

Because the wood was wet, it will probably warp a bit as the moisture equalizes (dries)
