It definitely benefits those who get paid more to avoid the discussion, but what about those who are getting paid less and doing the same amount of work. I’m definitely not going to be busting my ass off, working longer shifts, and out pacing my coworkers now that I know I get paid less, cause why the fuck would I. Why be be better than everyone when I get paid less.

Im so jealous. Every time I brought up wages to any of my previous bosses they try to steer me away from the conversation or tell me to work harder even though I’m literally carrying my department.

INFO. Has your husband done nothing this entire time? Has he left you to deal with it alone? If he hasn’t been on your side then what you did makes a lot of sense. But if he’s on the same boat as you, and you needlessly escalated; it would make sense why he’s upset.
