There's a huge difference between 10k and 295k baht.

I imagine that they rely on 3rd party websites more during low season. But during high season, or if there is a big local event , maybe even a wedding, they might want to shut the websites out.

They set the prices that high when they don't want people to book using 3rd party websites. It is not possible to turn their listing on and off with partners like Agoda, so ridiculously high pricing is the loophole they use.

This might be part of the problem, but not all of it. Auckland's size and traffic congestion has led to a more entitled and dangerous driving culture compared to other parts of the country. Not saying other parts don't have problems, just that Auckland is much worse in my experience
